a camp counselor maybe? he was younger, from what I remember. he was intense for a while, but later became more mellow & he sent out some apologies to people. seemed like a swell guy, left around the time he and his gf were gonna have a baby

ya vaginal_barrel was actually very likely a histrionical pathological liar desperate for an audience. he pretended to be suicidal, temporarily deaf, and made up a host of other absurd things that weren't entirely coherent.
to my knowledge only a couple of people figured it out. (steel was the one who told me when it came up in conversation one time, and based on conversations I've had with vb and the benefit of hindsight, I came to the same conclusion.)

we basically decided to not say anything because there was no actual proof and a lot of people liked him. but so many years after the fact I guess it doesn't matter anymore.

idk maybe a lot of that stuff was a lie, but the dude did come back after being away for like a year and sent me a kind of lengthy apology for being such a dick, even tho I was probably as guilty of that as he was, and then disappeared

Wow crazy, I vaguely remember the thing about his hearing and Steel being pretty adamant he was lying about everything. They had public arguments about it and Steel made lengthy posts about the disturbing nature of his lies.
