I just about finished my sleeve. It goes from my right hand all the way to the top of my arm. I gotta little bit to do in the middle to blend the colors but I like it. Yeah, my suggestion is if you're gonna get a tat plan it all out first. Get an artist that you can keep a relationship with so he/she can stay on it you don't really wanna go with multiple artists for the same tat. The only thing about mine is people ask me what it means alot and I think weird as fuck and don't like explaining it to regular people. Its got like; references to my mindset, where I've traveled, music, japanese folk tale and I got a lighting bolt on my right hand to represent the way I try to carry myself and which hand is my jab hand. Its kind of like a collage of self-expressive stuff that all ties together.
also if I was gonna get a sleeve I'd go with something aesthetic. Like some tribal or designs because its self-explanitory and sometimes pictures or kids faces or names blur up or look not so great later on.
also how your skin acts is very important, how the ink sits in it, even how much you bleed and pain threshold can effect a tat.
I wanna get one of those hawaiian native tats where they use the bamboo stick with black ink. Its supposedly very painful. I want one around my left arm but I'm only gonna do it if its authentically done. And I got a sleeve planned for my left leg later if I don't change my mind. I wanna get a blues brother's styled casper the friendly ghost smoking a cigar/blunt and blowing smoke up my leg which will turn into the musical bars from elliott smith's figure 8. I wanna use only blue/black/grey shading on it.
