Styles, you should seriously consider drawing manga. With how much effort you put into this game I'm sure it would be about the same amount of effort.
You definitely know how to write a game, characters come first, then around the characters is a plot that feels "bigger" than the characters. But what REEEALLY sets it apart, is how everyone can relate to one character or another somewhere in there.

I want this game to prove to the world that they don't have to worry about graphics, and inspire newer game creators to create better STORIES, and stop trying to have the best game play, because lets face it, if you want to focus on game play, you'd be better off just learning programming.
This game has seriously been a cushion of hope to my anime, telling me that I CAN do it, and not to give up on my writing.

I hope that we see more games like this in the future. Not just from Admiral Styles, but from all aspiring rpg makers. If ANYONE wants to create a game like this, the world of indie gamers has your back 100%.

Draw manga, eh? Sounds like a neat idea, except for my lack of artistic skills, alas. :) Ah... I am fond of RPG Maker 2000, because it's given me the chance I would never have had, to tell a tale like Love and War. But sometimes I find myself pretty frustrated with its limitations. For one thing, subtleties can sometimes just get lost in the mix. When Lavie nervously chats with Ryan at one point or another, how can I show her fiddling with her hair a little, or shuffling in her seat, or examining her shoes? I can't, really. You try to compensate with cues in the dialogue, and portraits, and that kind of thing, but ya can't catch them all. Maybe someday, if I become a multimillionaire, I can go and create Love and War, the manga series/animé series/professional RPG!

Hmm, LAW: The Manga sure would be cool... Even something much more minor, like releasing a number of small self-contained issues covering some of the more important moments in Act I would be awesome. Ah well. A guy can dream, can't he? :)

And if people just wanted a good story, they'd just read a damn book.

Mind you, I'm a big fan of this game because it does so many things right.

The great writing makes you not mind talking to NPCs all the time, the level layout of this game is good. The levels themselves, however could stand to be a bit prettier.

This game is not a one trick pony, it has plenty to offer that books dont. That mini game towards the end of the first act was especially good.

Well, uh... Hey everyone, look! It's Twinfoxtails! And he's doing stuff!!!

Seriously though folks, concrete progress has been made recently on Act II. With new additions to the LAW team, if all continues as it has, I am hopeful for a release sometime this year. :)

Could you at least give us a screenshot of the game?

Sure, although much of the mapping is currently being redone, likely making at least some of these screenshots obsolete. :)

Ryan asks about... marmalade?

A pricey clothes boutique.

A restaurant. Ryan probably can't afford anything in here.

Juno ponders his situation.

I might sound kind of picky by asking this, but could we see a revamped map just to compare it with one of those that you just recently posted. I also just noticed that Ryan is sporting new threads .

Rulezz, er... What are you talking about?

Examples of new mapping, ahoy!

The new clothes boutique.

The new restaurant. Ryan still can't afford anything in here.

I figure a summer adventure needs new threads. :)
