I remember a game we used to have... it was on one of the old sega systems (megadrive i think). It was a little platformer rpg style thing. Your main attack was slashing our sword and one of the first bosses was a giant mushroom. Anyone know what it's called?

Nope. It had a really cartoony art style if that helps.

EDIT: Found it. It was wonderboy in monster world.

I'm looking for a card game - of the Magic the Gathering sort, rather than the freecell sort..  It was fairly futuristic, and you had to defend several bases around the world through several "tabletops" so to speak.

On that subject, anyone know of good computer card games of that sort?  spectromancer is pretty good but somewhat limited right now.

OK I recently remembered this game.

It was sort of a RTS. I think it might have actually been from Peter Molyneux or BORROWED ideas from him. It was pretty much a god game where you raised a village or something of tribesmen. It had very early 3D graphics, sort of 96-97 era stuff. You had god powers and could start fires and cause earthquakes I think. The game mostly took place on little islands I think. You could direct villagers to build stuff, I seem to remember TOTEM POLES or something too which they prayed to and which gave you more MP TO USE GOD POWERS or something! The objective was to defeat other villages maybe? Military units MIGHT have had to be trained by sending villagers into a barracks.. I'm not 100% sure I'm correct about that though.

If anyone remembers let me know!

EDIT: haha should've spent a little more time on wikipedia. Peter Molyneux didn't design it but it was still a Bullfrog game.

It was Populous: The Beginning.

Yeah, what had me confused was that it wasn't Pop 1 or Pop 2.. I forgot there was a subtitled game. Again, Wikipedia was the answer.

When I first read it I immediately thought Black&White. It sounds exactly like it.

This is what the guy on yahoo answers said "alright so I remember once a long time ago I rented this game for super nintendo and it was a future base racing game and you could upgrade your car's engine and such. I remember something like a fusion reactor lol for it if that helps. but I don't know the name, can you help?"

Combat Cars? you could upgrade your engine, tires, handling, and special weapons that each car had (like missles, turbo, glue).

I know it isn't Combat Cars because it isn't a SNES game, it could be Rock N Roll Racing...

EDIT: It was Rock N Roll Racing, thanks guys I've told the guy on Yahoo answers as well job well done!
