Man, thanks for trying to help guys but my memory is clearly being too vague.

It wasn't like a robot shooter game, it involved a spaceship. Most of the screen was always black as it was in space, and the grid was black (and a grid of space!). It'd send a signal when you were near these guys you were looking for.

Man, this would have been like over a decade ago, my memory has apparantly gone to shit nowadays.

Most likely noone will know what game this is, i've been searching for this game for about 2 weeks.

I can't find any screens, and I'm not sure which sega system it was for; Genesis, 32X, Sega CD, etc.

.Basically I'm pretty sure you played as some sort of knight, and the intro of the game there is some...erm...screaming.
.In the game there 8-directional movement, with a bit of iso in it.
.You could beat the crap out of cows/pigs with your sword.
.Theres a big forest map with a LOT of chests.
.Theres a lot of puzzles in the castle you go to.

...thejackyl: halloween harry? todd's adventures in slimeworld? ...

I don't think so...  I'll look into those, though.

EDIT: Nope, The game I'm trying to find starts under a spaceship, and you have a jetpack (I don't think there are enemies either...  at least none that I remember)  Your jetpack has limited fuel, and you return to the ship to refuel.

One game I've been wondering about for a while:

It was an old Dos game, There was a starting Video of some kind, when you where in a plane in a WWII setting, and the enemy shoots your plane down. After that you are somehow in a fantasy world with dinosaurs, I think it was a point and click adventure game. Quite soon after the start you have to get across a river without the Croc in it eating you. So you swing across on a vine.
Later on in the game I remember you had to go underwater and in the top-left corner there were little bubbles representing your air left.
At the end of the game you had a battle with the evil guy and killed him.

Thats about all I can remember, other than that the starting video would sometimes crash my comp.

There was this Japanese flash game that I think Maladroithim posted a while ago.  It was kind of like a mini-version of Dragon Quest where you placed points on a world map and watched the events unfold.  If you placed the locations in a specific order, you'd watch a cool cinema with the hero fighting monsters and gaining treasure until he ended up destroying the great demon.  It was only about 5 minutes long but it would be neat to find it again.

The Horde? Probably not, but it was on a Sega console, had 8-directional isometric movement and had cows.

ok so, here's one that's been bugging me:

it's nes, i'm 100% sure. it's LIKE one of those strategy games Koei put out way back in the day. it's turn-based and a chunk of continent is split up into sections risk-style and you choose one of these little chunks and rule it and the goal is to take over the other chunks until you have the entire continent. what makes this interesting is all the political subterfuge and the tactical battles. this one was unique in that it didn't have anything to do with japan, but instead took place in Europe. I played as some white-haired dude and the music for my piece of land was this baroque thing (using NES sounds of course). it was a lot like nobunaga's ambition except for cosmetic differences like the locale and names. however for some reason i remember it being a lot more engaging/accessible than the nobunaga games.

again i'm 100% certain this was an nes game. i have every nes rom in existence which is how i originally found it. the only problem is i have 856 usa roms alone (i'm not even sure it was an official usa game, it could have been a fan translation or something). so in reality i easily more than 5000 roms to sort through so i really need some help here.

Since you are so sure that it is an NES game developed by KOEI, why not just look on the Internet and search for NES games made by KOEI?

Was it Gemfire?  Otherwise the only NES strategy game I can think of is Defender of the Crown, and I'm pretty sure that's not it.

Hm... I remember a game from ages ago.
It was a demo disc for PS1 and it had Yakulca or something like that demo mode, anyway it had this short RPG action game, you had a dagger. The only monsters were blobs and there was a dragon boss, you got this gold crown thing and had to bring it back to the ship, then your crewmate dropped it in the water.

If you died your crewmate would leave without you (Cutscene) and if you didnt bring the crown back then you would get an alternative ending.

Also you used bombs a fair bit to blow up stuff (Bombs were found on the floor).
There were heart containers like Zelda and you could use potions to heal yourself.

Also they spoke broken english due to bad translation. eg (I'm very scared = I'm very scary.)
I used to be fantastic_games if anyone remembers me, though I didn't contribute much I loved this site to death.

That would be GROW RPG by Eyezmaze. Check his site at www.eyezmaze.com.

There's quite a few awesome sequels to Grow RPG.

An RPG on Dreamcast. All I remember is meeting this woman in the middle of a village, and she was actually the main villain. I'm completely lost; that's all I remember.

Sounds like "Romance of the Three Kingdoms", it's a strategy game (risk style) made for the Nes by Koei. It had menu options like Move, War, Send, View, and Diplomacy.

EDIT: Just noticed you said it had to do with Europe, it might have been a rom hack of the game though.
