Question are there any rpgmaker vx battle systems worth a crap? (Read 136 times)

i'm fooling around with rpgmaker vx, and i've gotten further than i ever have with designing a game so far.  i've tried to make it challenging by limiting myself to only what i can script myself, and only the default RTP that comes with ACE.  however, the more i play with combat, the less satisfied i am, and i'm thinking about making an exception.  i'm trying to design a game with really tense combat situations where you have to carefully marshal resources and make choices about whether to risk combat for greater rewards, and the vanilla system seems lacking.  can anyone recommend custom systems that make combat a little more interesting?

sorry to disappoint, but no.  similar confusion when i signed up.  it's a name from a thomas pynchon book, so somewhat common online i guess.
