this is absolutely fantastic!

it goes without saying that the art is fantastic, maroonracoon's talent is something we've gotten to see before already. the writing was sometimes cute, and sometimes surprisingly lucid. my absolute favorite part was in one of the endings, where

you are floating in space, and the astronaut and you are talking about the necessity of small talk and the common denominators of rural America.

um, I don't suppose I could convince you guys to let me look at your AGS project files, could I? when I was trying to make my game in AGS at the start, I was trying to make something not dissimilar in format, but I had a hard time figuring out how to make what I want with the documentation available. seeing how you put it together would shed a lot of light onto how I could accomplish my ~vision~

either way, I'm really glad you guys put forward a gem like this

downloaded, didn't get to play yet but may I say maroon, beautiful vegetation sketching!

edit: haha this is a jam game, unbelievable! that was great. love the sketches and the pixel graphics and the dialogue and music choices!! all together has a little bit of an flcl vibe (please forgive my insolence).......georgia is very pretty and I would date her if she wanted to go on a date with me.

here is (i hope) everything you need to know.....

click the dot in the bottom right to see both your inventory & the list of items you need (once you get it), click the X in the top left to close this screen again, or on an inventory item to select it & use it on something in the room

the items you need are:

TURNIP

you need to go to the GROCERY STORE (go "right" from the vending machine/restroom area, then into the distance, then the central building, after you've talked to the siblings...)

the lady in front of you has the last turnip. you must talk to her to secure it for your own plans...

be persistent...

MAGAZINE

the shadowy figure in a trenchcoat, in the car park area right of the restroom/vending machine area, has a magazine for you. but he wants $5

there is someone who will give you $5 but he will only appear later on in the game, watering plants outside his house (the house you come to right after meeting the Astronaut for the first time)

once he is there, talk to him and he will challenge you to a fiendish game, a battle of wits, to win the money

by the way if you really are not enjoying that bit and just want to skip it...

BREATH MINT

you will get a breath mint complementary at the end of a session with DIVA DESIRE...

there is a free session code on a poster on a billboard down at the docks (click on it to "remember" it) but the mom-cat is standing in the way...

to get rid of her you will need to get her something to eat

there is a delicious snack in the VENDING MACHINE but it's broken

you will need to break the glass

there is something that will help you break the glass in the GROCERY STORE where you meet the lady who has the turnip

(it's over on the left-hand side, hidden behind some bananas)

RADIO

one of the other characters has a radio and will offer it to you

this will happen automatically in the course of securing a BREATH MINT.....

WRENCH

there is a wrench inside the toilet bowl in the restroom area...

once you have got rid of the mom-cat in the course of getting BREATH MINT, the restroom's occupant is no longer there, so you can get in there, flip up the lid and retrieve the wrench

aaa i realized today the hint/of what i should do without the help of guide, it was a little obscured...

ahaha im thaaat aaastronaaaaaaut. seriously, your rm2k game was good but i was completely blown away with this game (the teasers looked amazing on their own, for sure but...). shit!!!! i don't even know what to say anymore, the experience was too total, and since you know very well what you're up to with your esthetics/decisions on gaming events etc, maybe i should leave you alone from commenting on most of minor/little things in game (or there would be NO END OF IT). i had no idea you could make this good of graphics in AGS but you could say it's more impressing how you wield the IBM/windows 4.0 pixel raster - graphics like it's nothing to you. seriously talented... let me explore these woods... was also impressed of fully functioning minigame, sheesh with his little time? is it denzquiz enabling this wonder feat, what was denz part in this magic experience?... humour was extra good...

shit, i was kinda pumped/waiting to write about this but you know, would be easier just with your comics etc where there's less details/less IDEAS in one go but tis' too much for me yang hart... well, better this way. you'll go far...

EDIT this actually reminds me in experience closer to 90's/2000's multimedia games based on children's books eg Pettson and Findus (the books are better than the game but still) or my personal favorite i'd still like to visit, Bulding Cars with Gary Gadget (dunno about the books themselves but this was the stuff of dreams etc...). This was a compliment.

i handled all the AGS side of it, which is a bit of a shame cause maroonracoon hoped to learn a bit more about using AGS for herself through this, but we decided with the time we had (also we are 8 hours apart timezone-wise

) to get it done the way we wanted to, it was really the only option...

i got the minigame working in a few hours, later adjusted the AI to make it a bit easier to beat though...
