I think it might be good to have a part of the forum that anyone can see/post in once they sign up, but isn't visible if you are not logged in & isn't fodder for the search engines... and also there would be shared understanding that people might talk about work-in-progress/potential ideas in detail, so yknow, don't click a project thread if you don't wanna be ~spoiled~ for final gamesperience (i know we got "post a screenshot" etc., but this could be for more detailed, formative stuff...)

does that sound useful/good to anyone, or not really necessary...?

as someone who can't assist in effecting change on this website whatsoever, i throw my support behind this. i like anything that creates more threads and opportunities to show off shit we're making or doing or thinking about (doing)! i can't get into the secret boards anyway so it'd give a nice clubhouse feeling

I'll see if I can set this up during the weekend! But I'm not sure if the current shit forum software supports it. (I really regret switching everything over to IPB, and I'd ideally want to investigate a switch to something else at some point.)

It sounds good to me too.

If it turns out it is possible to do, I'm already thinking of posting stuff there that I wouldn't already post in the game design/demo forum. (Simply because it isn't far enough along yet, but I still want feedback on)

EDIT: If it turns out the forum software doesn't support doing it that way, maybe you could try making it a protected subforum and you just put the password for it into the forum description so everyone already knows what it is? Or are bots smart enough to still figure their way into it?

The Archives are different because they are read only I guess, but they're just visible for logged-in users, right???

If so, this function exists already!

I like how there is activity on this forum again. Perhaps the nostalgia is bringing people back finally.

I definitely suppor this idea.

I dig this idea, for the same reasons as EvilDemonCreature.

Ugh sorry, this seems to have slipped my mind. Usually I keep my tasks open as tabs in my browser and sometimes my browser crashes, so then my attitude is "if I don't hear anything, it probably wasn't important." So that is how things disappear from my task list.......

I'll look into it tonight when I'm home from work, for real this time.
