Just watched The Martian, it was a pretty good movie. Game me an idea for a minigame where you have to drive a large distance. In The Martian, Matt Damon's character has to get out and set up solar panels to recharge his batteries every so often. This would be a great time to throw random encounters at the player. It could be used to travel between remote outposts on any kind of uninhabited planet, while the player finds ways to upgrade his power system to be able to travel longer distances safely.
