they're concerned with extending the series in hopes of lining their pockets with longer viewing...boy, how ironic...

At the snail's pace they're going, I wouldn't mind a years worth of fillers if they would pick up the pace afterwards.

Oh man, so did anyone read the newest chapter?

I really wonder if Itachi is a good guy, that's just so fucked up. If it turns out that he massacred Uchiha clan to get on Madara's side so that he could know more about him (or spy him) to protect leaf and shinobi world, that would be a pretty fucked up thing to do and I can't consider him a good guy even so. I think he really was trying to kill Sasuke and once he realizes he is about to die, he transfered his jutsu to Sasuke. It wasn't his plan all among or something like that. Man, this is just one fucked up twist because nothing makes sense now. Or then Madara is simply lying to him, which is also a possibility. Would be a pretty interesting thing to do because all the fanboys have been making up these theories of Itachi being a good guy, and it would be hilarious if it was a lie.

Unfortunately we didn't see Tobi's whole face, but based on the panel where Sasuke uses Amaterasu on him and we see a bit more, I really think he is Obito. Those aren't wrinkles, his face seems to be scarred or something. I keep calling him Madara for now, though I don't think it's him.

I added the spoiler to the last part since it was pretty spoilery for anime watchers. Also, here are some of my reasoning on the subject:

A lot of people think Tobi is not Obito because it seems too obvious, it did from the very beginning. He's wearing a mask with only one eye, he has similar characteristics and acts in a similar goofy way and it seems like one side of his body has some weird thing attached to it. Later on it was revealed he's an Uchiha, which made it all the more obvious, and people just couldn't buy it. They think that Kishimoto is trying to make it obvious and then it's someone else, and since they knew that from the moment Tobi was introduced, and once he stated he is Madara, they assumed they were right.

But I think it goes beyond that. I think Kishimoto made him so similar to Obito so that people would think he is someone else, and it's pretty easy to predict they'd do that. Next he gives them what they want to hear, that he's some super powerful Uchiha from the past. What makes me even more suspicious of this is that if he was Madara, why the hell would he still wear his mask for one? Why would he wear it in the first place? We know what Madara looks like. Second, while Madara has been portrayed as a powerful character, he lost against First Hokage and I can't really buy that the strongest villain in the series would have already lost against a character who hasn't even been hyped that much. If he turns out to be Obito, it'll be pretty hilarious because so many have said that's simply impossible and while it's the most obvious twist there is, it's also more than that and overall pretty well thought out all things considered.

And yeah, Kishimoto said that this year manga is going to focus on Sasuke and after that Kakashi. That's another reason to believe he is Obito. I believe he claims to be Madara so that he could gather people and use them in order to reach his goal, and to conceal his true identity, of course.

I was dissapointed with the latest chapter seeing as nothing really happened. I just really hope Sasuke didn't get all of Itachi's jutsu. I hope Itachi only set a trap and not transfer his mangekyo.

If you mean the Itachi vs Sasuke (is this really a spoiler?) fight, then yeah it's over. I agree that Sasuke's team should be focused on more. I really can't wait to see Suigetsu vs Kisame.

This week's episode was nice even though it was mostly talking. Animation and the pace were both good, I just think Naruto acting that stupid is a bit out of character, even though it was the same in manga.

I enjoyed this week's episode. Even though it was mostly talking the pacing was good and the animation too. Naruto looks great in hi-def. I hope the following episodes share the same quality and pacing.

Did you guys see the latest Naruto movie? The first Shippuuden movie, I mean... Really, what a letdown...

I was really hoping Naruto would actually die =(

I didn't think it was bad at all. Much better than the last movie. What I really liked about the movie was the scenery, the fights (which were great) and the wonderful music. I loved the music in the film and hope it will be used in the anime (especially the fight tracks) too.

I thought the Shippuuden movie was pretty bad, though definitely better than movies 2 and 3.

The main problem with Naruto movies is that the stories are so not fit for the Naruto universe, plus the movie villains always suck. Why can't they do a movie about Konoha getting attacked or something to do with Akatsuki or something somehow related to the actual story. I don't give a shit about Naruto traveling to <insert stupid name> country to fight against ancient demon who is going to destroy the world (jesus christ). I don't give a shit about flying castles. Or how everything is always settled with Rasengan and how the movies tend to follow a really similar formula. Shippuuden movie actually looked pretty good from the intro previews back in season one but it was a huge letdown. It wasn't horrible but I can't say it was better than average. Animation was good though.
