I'm looking to build an old school Windows 98 computer at some point. Looking to include a 3.5 and 5.25 floppy disk, CD drive and chunky monitor. I was wondering if anybody had good suggestions for games, software or hardware so I can build this? Or if anybody wanted to question my insanity for wanting to spend money on making a computer so horrifically out of date.

As amusing as it would be to browse the web with Netscape Navigator or old school Internet Explorer, it would be like trying to handle nuclear waste with oven mits, so it wont have any internet connectivity.

I had a Dell pentium II that I was using for my windows 98 machine with 32MB of ram and it worked pretty well for playing old games. It’s nice to play old games on the hardware they were intended for.

I agree. It's hard to play a lot of old games on modern PCs, and I do want that authentic old school windows/DOS experience.
