Uh.. well, Melee was a huge success and 99% of people who enjoyed SSB enjoyed SSBM, so.. uh.. I don't see what the point of your post is there. No one is even talking about Melee, Sarhan mentioned the original SSB but that's all.

I am very, very sorry that I slipped up again... :emo:

There was a Suplex Kirby (or some such) in Superstar that did all sorts of throws.  I'm pretty sure Kirby is using a move from that moveset as his suplex move.

No it's not suplex. I'm 100% sure that it's the Izuna Drop and no matter which FAQ and which fanboy tells you it's suplex, it's not. I know this because it is the throw associated with ninjas and every ninja in every video game uses it, whether they are Spanish Ninjas or some other ninja. It's actually a cliche for ninjas. I can give you a whole list of ninjas that use this move and you can go see for yourself.

I never checked any FAQ or fancy whatever - I just played a lot of SSB and Kirby Superstar back in the day.  I did just watch a youtube video of Suplex Kirby, and he did the move from SSB.

...wait....I think we're talking about two different throws here.  Kirby's back throw is definately from Suplex Kirby.

(I can't see the dojo from work, it's blocked.  So if this throw discussion started from something seen on the dojo, I wouldn't know about it.)

No, it didn't. All on the Dojo today is an Excite Bike AT that summons a lot of little exitebikes and a Lakitu AT that summons a Latiku that throws Spineys. Both are in their original 8bit form.

The suplex discussion started because of the video they showed of Snake fighting Mario. If you haven't watched it yet, you definitely should. It shows some actual gameplay and it looks badass.

Hell yeah the Excitebike rider!
I knew he was going to show up somehow.

...Lakitu, well good for him, that isn't much of a shocker for me.

Well yeah, my bad, I forgot to tell you that his throw in the original SSB and his up throw in Melee is the Izuna Drop. The rest of his throws in Melee are the throws that Suplex Kirby uses.

EDIT: I'm loving Snake's stage, it's so awesome. Also, do you think the Metal Gears just look at you and go or do they attack as well?

Man I just watched the Snake video and um...is his voice that lame sounding in the MGS games? I've never played one but it really sounds like he is grumbling his throat in an attempt to sound badass but he sounds like a pedophile chocking on sand.

I think he just put more effort into the MGS series than Brawl. It's the same voice, but MGS sounds a lot better. The voice clips they've posted so far don't sound like he's trying as hard. As long as the actual fighting sounds are cool, it'll be fine (since we'll be hearing those 99% of the time).

Woo for Fox's smash.

The shields were a given a few days ago, but the dodge things I think are going to change the game, big time.

I really hope they haven't blown it. Melee was near perfect IMO, and if they change too much I think it'll go in the wrong direction.

Weren't the dodges always in? Well, the foward roll dodge anyway.

ANd yeah, the Landmaster looks cool. Will be interesting to see how it turns around, though.

All the dodges were always in. Atleast I know they were in Melee, I haven't played the original like since before the Gamecube came out so I'm not sure there but I think they were in it too.

Nice updates. I thought maybe we were going to see air dodges, but we didn't, which means still no confirmation of WDing (although Zamus does look like she's in the air in the regular dodging screenshot). Hopefully air dodging is still in. Fox's FS looks cool though. That landmaster is huge. If you play on smaller stages, that thing is going to take up the whole level. All you have to do to beat your enemies is just hover and roll.

I like this Final Smash because it wasn't predictable (unlike Pokemon Trainer's predictable Final Smash).  The prediction being that Fox summons an Arwing that blasts everyone.

you must not play super smash bros that much do you

edit:  unless of course by dodge you meant the air dodge and not the rolling dodge in which case i could understand if you didn't know about it

Shielding has been around since ssb64. Air Dodges were added in Melee, as well as Shield Dodges (pressing Down while Shielding).

Dodges have been in SINCE THE ORIGINAL, so...

Also Fox's Smash looks cool, but hard to avoid! It seems a little cheap, but then again, Final Smashes are in a way so...
