From underneath the trees, we watch the sky
Confusing stars for satellites
I never dreamed that you'd be mine
But here we are, we're here tonight

Singing Amen I, I'm alive
Singing Amen I, I'm alive

[CHORUS]
If everyone cared and nobody cried,
If everyone loved and nobody lied,
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride,
We'd see the day, when nobody died

continued below...

And I'm singing

Amen I, Amen I, I'm alive
Amen I, Amen I, Amen I, I'm alive

And in the air the fireflies
Our only light in paradise
We'll show the world they were wrong
And teach them all to sing along

Singing Amen I, I'm alive
Singing Amen I, I'm alive

[CHORUS ][/CHORUS]

And as we lie beneath the stars,
We realize how small we are,
If they could love like you and me,
Imagine what the world could be

[CHORUS ][/CHORUS]

We'd see the day, we'd see the day
When nobody died
We'd see the day, we'd see the day
When nobody died
We'd see the day when nobody died

i don't know it kind of angers me when people use something that means a lot to me in order to sell shitty songs, especially something as serious as the subject is.

I know people who would see that music video, and go buy the album just based off of that. That's what pisses me off. I guess I should be more angry at the people who are buying the album.

you really think they would? I never even heard this song, I was unaware it was a single.

but yeah I get what you mean. it just didn't strike me as a selling point because I didn't even think the song was popular PROVE ME WRONG

there i was flicking through tv stations like the mindless peon i am when i came across this steaming turd:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8sgycukafqQ

Quote
It features footage of the band performing in the desert, intersperced with stock footage reflecting on a variety of social and environmental issues including pollution, global warming, racism, Nazism, famine, terrorism, wars, deforestation, drug addiction, abortion, obesity, destruction, rising gasoline prices and other crimes committed by humanity. The video also features short views of important historical figures, such as Mother Teresa, Buddha, Abraham Lincoln, Robert Kennedy, Fidel Castro and Mahatma Gandhi.

plus - featured in the transformers soundtrack!

what a cheap load of shit. it doesn't appear the video had any charitable aspirations, it was basically just "hey look at us, we used to be linkin park, but now we are U2 with mohawks!" i hate these fuckers.

on the subject of bands like this getting involved in social and political issues - i just don't believe them. i think they are all lying sacks of shit and couldn't give a damn what happened one way or the other, not really. otherwise, they wouldn't be the icons of all-enduring superficiality and passivism that they are. they would actually get off their lazyboys and go do something, they have more than the means.

if their half-assed attempts to get recognition by occasionally doing an anti-global warming video, or writing a song about how we have to stop all the brutality (profound shit), actually raises some cash to put towards the problems, then that's good. but it doesn't make me hate these fuckers any less. i'm not going to say stop, i'm just not giving them anything for it. i take decency for granted.

i mean come on, it's just so trite, self-serving and cheesey. can't we do better than this crap.

JJ, it's not nu-metal anymore...

Oh really? I have no idea but on the other hand I haven't heard them in like 6 years or something.
Is it our duty to die for governments and for gods?
Is it our privilege to slave for market and for industry?
Is it our right to follow laws, set to scare and to oppress?
Is it a gift to stay in line and will it take away the blame?

i hate them just because of the sheer amount of LOL PRODUCTness that SHINES from them like a BLACK HOLE but with light coming out except the light is DARKNESS because it is evil.

That being said though, I enjoyed a lot of hybrid theory until I knew what they were saying.  Even now though, I still think it is pretty cool.  And My December imo.

I didn't mind "In the End" the first 10 or so times I heard it. Now I want to kill the song.

Breaking The Habit, My December, High Voltage, Faint, The Little Things Give You Away (bloody great song).

Mike Shinoda's solo stuff tends to appeal more, but they have some decent music if you look at more than the singles.

i listen to 92.3 K rock, and they play this song at least 3 times a day...something about digging deeper just to throw it away. (I'm listening to it right now actually.) and they also have a different song that they only play twice a day which is equally annoying

edit: yay, now led zeppelin is playing!
