dX I can pick you up no problem if you decide to come out- just keep me posted on Walker Road closures. I'll also pitch towards renting a vehicle if the help is needed. Wouldn't have to worry about lodging because I've got lots of space but you may want to bring your own pillows and blankets in case I run short.

Right now, the last weekend in October (Friday 26 October to Sunday 28 October) is the best for me. If this is cool with everyone I'll start setting it up and scouting places to go. Like I said, there isn't much to do in this area and I doubt anyone will be up for another 40+ minutes to get into Windsor to see an actual city. The biggest attraction around here is Colasanti's which is a big greenhouse and petting zoo. They have mini-golf. Food selection isn't bad but there isn't a chinese buffet to be had (40+ minute drive into Windsor for buffet). Gilligan's has awesome burgers. There's an Applebee's but the last time I ate there I got food poisoning.
Check it out! I'm doing NaNoWriMo this year!

Mini-Golf would be great, and the petting zoo might be fun too.  I can't actually remember the last time I went to one of those.

I like the idea of planning stuff, just sitting around a house and playing games/being loud and obnoxious is fun and all, but going to a zoo and shit would be pretty rad

Also, I do have access to a van but god no I am not driving that thing more then 100km, it's MUCH more riggidy and beaten since the last time I used it (3 years ago!)

I just have my corolla, which can comfortably seat 4 + Driver, and you can fit one more but they have to lay down for the trip :) But you guys are mostly all skinny nerds so I bet we could fit 4 in the back if it had to be

I would love to go to Detroit after/before the meet for like a day, would anyone be up for that with me?

Also, the last weekend of October doesnt work for me ... already got plans made

dX can't make it for the weekend of 20 October and the weekend of 14 October is bad for me because of band stuff. What works for you?

And trust me when I say this: Detroit sucks. It's not worth the $10 you'll spend in border crossing to go over and see road construction.

Edit: First weekend in November works for me, but not the second or third weekends (more band stuff). And, there is a Greyhound bus station about ten minutes from my house so anyone who wants to ride the bus down and back I can pick you up from the station no problem.

I don't know about this, because as I've stated before I'm not overly well-known in the community. I might be interested in coming though, but not the last week of October (Hellgate: London!!!!!). In the event I do decide to come I have a go-mobile (car) with room for 4 others.

Even if you are socially inept, Polygon it's all right. We'll do our best to make you comfortable. Besides, I'm a bit of a social moron myself.

Anyway, the first weekend in November is perfect for me. Let the planning begin!

Well, if HybridZero is going then Ash and I could snag a ride with him.  Otherwise we might need to look into renting something, although I have no idea how much that would cost.

most hotels/motels are between $60/night to $120/night for two beds.

just get ash to sleep on the floor or play WoW all night and you should be good

Actually I was talking about renting a vehicle for all of us to travel down in.  But now that I think about it, if we can fit up to six people in that car we'd be fine so nevermind.

Huzzah! I'm so there this time!!  May or may not bring the boyfriend if he's available!

Questions!

Is the first week of November confirmed?

How far is Kingsville from Hamilton?

Are carpool spaces still available? (I can drive there myself but my car has been acting really shitty lately)

Hamilton to Kingsville is probably about 3 hours as it's a bit further then where I am

As for carpooling space .. umm, I assume this is who I wil have in my car:
- Myself
- Brother
- Izekeal
- Ash?
- Dan?
- Moriason

Assuming ash and Dan come I could definitely not fit anymore, but if they didn't or they had another drive I'd be in Hamilton anyways to pickup Moriason so that I could carpool you and your boy

As far as I can tell, yes. Saturday and Sunday, 3-4 November 2008. You're more than welcome to come out Friday, too.

Roughly 300KM give or take a few. Don't follow the directions from the internet because all the map sites send you down 77 through Leamington which is just a huge waste of time. When the time gets closer I'll give directions that will be faster and easier.

That question isn't one I can answer, sorry. At the rate Bart's car is filling up they could probably strap you to the roof but it'd be a cold ride. Like I said you can catch the Greyhound bus (if you're so inclined).

Well, Bart, as I was saying, if HybridZero can drive (he's got his own car) then that would free up three spaces in your car.  I'll try to get a hold of him soon and see if he'll be busy.

About an hour from Detroit.  I could bring Ninja Pirate and Marmot - since apparently they go to the same college as me wtf?! :woop: :woop:

The only reason I missed the last GW meet was because of something that got in the way... that was important.. and I can't remember what the fuck it was... OH YEAH it was my brother coming up from Texas and we were going to the UP (upper peninsula) of Michigan.

Also
I would be able to go AFTER November 17th... preferably.   Thats the last home game.  The Weekend before that MIGHT work... but the first weekend of November is the MICHIGAN vs MICHIGAN STATE game and you bet your ass I am going to that.

Sounds like you're going to have to decide what's more important to you: meeting people from the internet, or going to a sports game.

Depends what game.  And if it's home or away.
