Yo so as some of the #capcom regular guys know I've not been showing up lately cause I've been really busy. Yes this has been for life reasons, but I've also been working on a side #capcom project some of you also know about.

Basically, I am pleased with the current state of the channel. You've all really gotten a lot better in the games you play (yes even you NP) and its really quite a different beast than it was a year or so ago back during the times of Corel.

However, I think that because we are a community, and very strong, we deserve to be able to show off that community, and have a more robust look. Look at it this way guys, we might have new people coming in with the mainsite, thats cool shit! Even if they don't....why shouldn't we become slightly more robust? #darkling has a damn website ffs!

So without further adu, here is what you guys can expect from #capcom:

Within near future:
*Season 2 ranking battles + tournaments with prizes

You can help by posting ideas that you think would be awesome, leave comments, continue playing games like mad in the channel, help teach people in the channel stuff when you play, and look forward to an ever expanding channel. The best thing you can do is support our community by posting in these existing topics about fighters here more often , and make more fighting game topics discussing your favorite fighters!

edit: im also going to post info to a new kailleraclient that smokes the one we use in the mame topic in a bit. I would like all of you to shift over to it, cause there is no reason not to use it.

Sounds really cool, man. I wish I could get involved but I'm moving to uni in a few weeks and I'm pretty sure playing online games on the network is a no-no.

most universities are more concerned with P2P traffic and excessive downloads/uploads than most other traffic, add to it that theres so many different kinds of packets that are used for games that there's no way they'll be able to stop you from playing most games without severely limiting access for other types of applications.

The site is just going to initially be a single page that links to info on the games we play, the channel rules (which are all pretty obvious), what the channel is about, and thats about it.

Then sometime soon I'm going to collect info from you guys for the Player Profiles and put them up, then maybe get around to forums, etc.

Cool shit you got there bud. As of the moment, there are two people that I may start to constantly play with, so I guess it's cool. When will you start on the site and all that?

The basic site is actually already done I'm just thinking up some cool ideas and shit atm.

This is the current website.

This is just a basic thing to just be there, but here is my plans with descriptions for future additions:
*Menu Bar to go thru the different aspects of the website. This will be: News (the main page), Rules, Game Info, Tournaments, Player Profiles, Input File Database, Forums when the entire site is completely finished.
-News: This will list updates to the site, changes in the channel, etc!
-Rules: The current rules section in its own page.
-Game Info: Info on the games we play, with links to respective topics here in Netplay or elsewhere. Plans to eventually convert these topics into an HTML popup with a table of contents etc, basically like a mini-book you read in your browser.
-Tournaments: A history of all tournaments and ranbats that have ocurred in the channel. These will have input files, screenshots, a writeup, etc on all of these happenings.
-Player Profiles: A profile of all the players in our sub-community. Things such as what got you into fighters, what fighters do you play, your favorite fighting game series, your skill level, your favorite moment, etc will all be displayed here as well as pictures of you doing battle and videos linked to you from the IFD.
-Input File Database (IFD) : A complete listing of recorded input files between members of the sub-community. This will include Casual Matches, Tournament Matches, select Ranbat matches, and more!
-Forums: This wont be for awhile, but if the community starts to get more active we might just get a seperate smaller set of forums off GamingW just for fighting game discussion. This also isn't FOR SURE or rather, as sure as the others are.
*Redesign: I am looking to resdesign the site so it doesn't look so basic, is easier on the eyes, and looks cool!!

I think it's pretty cool and shit. When will you start gathering information from players? And will it be through PM or on IRC?

pm + irc depending cause some guys dont come here anymore but stay in the community

also if you guys want to help out start recording your matches (HOLD CTRL+ALT+SHIFT then click start game in a server (think it works for a p2p thing too) dont use the built in record function in the p2p client (ie: the thing that says record game), it lags the game a bit) and then tag them properly in the proper way below and then upload them to GamingW and send me the links.

PROPER WAY:
[GAME] [Your ][/Your] VS [Opponent] [Date ][/Date]

FOR EXAMPLE:
DarkNecrid VS Raziel SFA3 (02-07-07) = WRONG
SFA3 DarkNecrid VS Raziel (02-07-07) = RIGHT

I dont really care if you do it wrong the first couple of times really cause I can fix it, but this will tell me if the info I need to put into the IFD easily. Also if its a Tournament match attach a [T] at the end of the date like (02-07-07)[T] and a Ranbat match as [R] (same way only [R]).

EDIT: Added new rule: no macros that make you do an entire combo in 1 button.
