Sounds really cool. Badlands obviously isn't the "gold cart" map they were talking about before (Goldrush or something?) but I like the idea of a vertical map very much!

im interested in the dustbowl change as i dont really understand it from that sentence but we'll see.......... today............

Nice, but not really a big update. The new game mode and new achievements plus unlockables patch will be a big one. :P

i am getting better but this game sux.

i usually play as a spy disguised as an engineer, so i can shank the real engineers and destroy their sentries, but whenever i do that my stupid team never pays attention to the little update thing that says who kills who, so they never rush the control point once i clear it.

maybe i should just spam pipebombs like everyone else (seems to be doing???) instead of being a support class.


also, what are you supposed to do when the control point is covered in stickymines?

kill the demo or just shoot them away. That might be hard in battle but you could always try to trick the enemy demo to blow them up by going on and off the point.

Most of them are to prevent people abusing glitches to get to strategically superior places that are otherwise inaccessible. The change to stage 2 means the 'trenches' have an access point from the left and the right instead of just the left, to stop sentries and nades and stuff rolling down the only access point to the map (with enough demos you can utterly deadlock the spawns if they don't uber through)

You're kidding right? It's taken them 5 months to make one map, and it's a remake of one they already made before.

And the map is, frankly, pretty boring. It's badly designed and although it's symmetrical so no team has an advantage it's actually hideously unbalanced. CP1/5 captures in UNDER A SECOND with 1 man, and CP 2/4 are so god damn high up that scouts/soldiers/demomen have an insane advantage in capping. From the 20 odd games of it I've played it always goes one of two ways; 1 team wins in a minute, or it gets stalemated and the game goes on for 40+ minutes as the team teams fight over cp3 and either 2/4. There's a surprisingly large lack of chokepoints in badlydesignedlands and it does make for an awesome blazing pyro frenzy but at the same time it makes scoutrushing and whatnot 20 times easier.

Definately agree with you, Sarevok. I was playing Badlands last night, and we spent 30 minutes on the last capture point. What sucks is how all of the capture points are INCREDIBLY easy to capture, except the last one on both teams. I hate how the capture point is also 5x smaller than the others and is completely blocked off by this huge wall column and if you put sentries there, you have no chance of capturing it.

I will say that I do like the updates they did with Dustbowl, especially the level where there's now 2 spots to drop down from instead of one. It was so easy for the opposing team to rush and camp your spawn before.

Badlands is boring. Stick with Dustbowl.

found a glitch...  caused by the update?  Edit:  My highest kills via sentry is 9, not 2 btw

Man aww :( I wish they hadn't changed it then, as the original badlanda was prettymuch solely chocking points, as you either had to go across the ONE BRIDGE (with arches/corners either side so there was no open spaces) or on the bottom, through the tunnels. Plus the bases were pretty darn good. I played this new one for like a minute and I was so lost. It isn't the real badlands at all :(

Yeah TFC Badlands was bitching, I don't really recognize the new one (though obviously completely new graphics could do that too)

Hotfix Patch released yesterday fixes that.
