I have no intention of getting a PSP, so I am sad that I will not be able to play the Final Fantasy Tactics remake coming out for that system. Does anyone know if there are plans to port it over as a PS2 release (like the two PSP Grand Theft Auto games) or as a downloadable game for the PS3?

Square seem to be pretty strict about which consoles get their games. If they say that a game will only be on PSP, it'll stay like that. I could be wrong but I can't remember when they ported a game after FF8 to the PC. I only play their FF and KH games so Im not sure about the other franchies they make.

This sad fact works both ways, since FFXII-2 and FFTA2 and FF3 won't see a Sony platform.

Probably not, just get a psp, there are plenty of good games on it. If not you'll have to make do with the original.

the fft remake sucks huge ass anyway so just play the psx version

What? Let's see, they retranslated it to make it intelligible, and added new jobs, content, and cut scenes. How is it bad?

Edit: The only thing I hope they DON'T fix is the item duplication and scroll-JP bugs, because they are pretty sweet.

You didn't even bother reading about the changes that were made.

I've beaten the original FFT and it's one of my favorite games. I'm very glad the rewrote the script. There was a website that had a sample of the new dialogue compared to the old and the new one is much more coherent while still retaining the same meaning. Seeing this game really made me wish I had a PSP but I'm poor so I probably won't end up getting a chance to play this. Lucky PSP owners...

The lag is fixed, it's now as fast as the one on the regular PSX. And I doubt there are high load times, especially if it's an ISO.

Plus Balthier is in the new one. That alone makes me want to get it. I think this is going to be one of the better remakes Square puts out.

I doubt that since I play the PSX version on my PSP and it runs nearly flawlessly.

the psx version ran flawlessly no matter what, but when it was first released Belross, the PSP version lagged like fuck.

I am pretty excited for this, because FFT is one of my favorite games ever. I'm pretty pleased that they've fixed all the technical issues from the JP version!

FFT, FFVII Crisis Core, Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep (remeber the secret trailer in KH2?), FF Dissidia... and thats just the stuff Square is putting on it.

This is going to be my next purchase for PSP, and I am really looking forward to seeing what improvements they made.

I played a little bit of it, but on the computer I had and my xbox, it glitched a lot so I only played about 11hours worth.

Hmm, I wonder if Blade Grasp will still be effective against guns and bows. Although FFT is a ballin' game, I doubt it's worth having a PSP to play it with. Still, gotta be better than FFT: Advanced.

From the sounds of those who've played the leaked euro/american release the lag is still pretty much the same as the Jap version. Which is disappointing.

I'll be getting it later, I can't wait till Friday.
