I am ecstatic at the release of the first episode of this series.  :fogetgasp:
This series is a direct sequel to the original You're Under Arrest series.

You're Under Arrest was a great shonen back in the 90s about two police-women, Natsumi (who was hotblooded and very tomboy-ish only not) and Miyuki (Who was extremely intelligent, had MAD DRIVING SKILLZ)

The show ran for two seasons of the pair's exploits and adventures, with some truly memorable-characters like Strikeman (A masked vigilante obsessed with beating thugs up with baseball gear) and so on and so forth...

Anyway, this new sequel has some pretty great animation, the music is also very good and it's extremely obvious the creators know exactly what the fans want because even though the two characters are explicitly heterosexual (In the original series atleast), the series is full of yuri undertones. In fact, the ending is pretty much a suggestive slideshow of Miyuki and Natsumi.

I've seen a few episodes from the first season as well as two or three of the mini-specials.  I really liked what I saw and am glad that an older series has been brought forward into today's animation world.  I hope this trend continues and maybe we'll see some other great series, from the late 80s and early 90s, redone with a more modernized look (eg, City Hunter to Angel Heart).  I'll have to take a look at this series.

I used to be a fan of Kosuke Fujishima.... but he panders more and more every year that he goes by. He even went as far as doing this to the Ah My Goddess manga (the series on the otherhand being completely unwatchable).

I will give this a try though.

I had a dream where I watched this, even though I know nothing about it (I vaguely knew the plot to the old one, so I'm assuming they're similar even though I never saw it either).  Now I'm strangely compelled to watch it.
