man what the fuck is a serious vote? doesn't exist.

serious reply: how do you know WE exist. maybe we dont Exist.

non-serious reply: something based on OH HE'S FAMOUS AND MAKES FUN OF PEOPLE LETS VOTE FOR HIM which is pretty stupid and while the political sphere is gross as hell sometimes I'd like to think it hasn't degraded to the point that people would seriously vote a parody of Bill O'Reilly into office before, say, Dennis Kucinich.

internet hype honestly. they focus on his "good" shit and ignore the horrible. when you get suckered into the idea that voting against tax raises and for states rights is ALWAYS the best idea (protip: it's not), you start finding out about his indefensible shit like how he believes in forced deportation of immigrants or the dissolution of the FDA in favor of corporations setting their own standards for meat or medicine or anything, but then you don't want to admit you are wrong so you run for whatever answer.

you were, like most people, at stage one. Paulestinians are so far gone though that they will try to justify the Darfur vote.

It's either Obama, Colbert, or Ron Paul for me. But I don't know enough about Obama's OR Ron Paul's policies to know if they are even good candidates. So, I think I'll be voting Colbert. Honestly I will.

I hope you live in South Carolina or plan to do a write-in

honestly though I dont even know if I'll bother to register at this point. I'm waiting to see who gets the nominations I guess (even though I've expressed interest in voting in the primaries.. I probably wont)

hillary doesn't want us to pull out completely at all. she wouldn't even commit to pulling out by 2013.

The Colbert Report is hella popular in Ontario. I saw his show a couple times that week. Even though it's just another goofball stunt of his, it's what makes the Repor' so awesome! He gets the audience involved. Like with his youtube video edit competitions, or Wrist Awareness bracelets.

Can someone post a youtube video of when Colbert talks about this on his show? That's disappointing. And could it possibly be illegal? Shouldn't EVERY candidate get a chance?

as to your first question: maybe if there is one but if there is one, thats illegal and will be taken down soon anyways
as for your second question: nope, not illegal. its actually how our system works
as for third question: hell no

No since he is trying to run in a specific party, which is a political organization. A believe that they can't decide who is allowed in the party but they can decide who is eligible to run based on certain criteria. I think the criteria he failed to meet was something about his validity as a serious candidate (not running in every state or even enough states may be labeled as not being a serious candidate).

All in all this is a good thing. I love Colbert and I definitely find it really funny that he would actually try and run but the bottom line is voting a comedian in wouldn't change politics like you all think. He's also horribly unqualified as a real candidate and as far as running as a joke, that died when he decided not to run as a republican since obviously that's what his character would do.

True to an extent. He made it clear on his show that he couldn't fork up the $25,000 or whatever absurd amount you need to run as a republican candidate.

"Hey Trujin, want a beer?"

"I'm officially going to concider if I want to say yes or no!"

This is almost as stupid as the shit the news brought up today:

"Britney Spears says she is going to try to become a good mother."

Wow way to read the rest of the topic
He already officially announced that he is running, so the whole considering thing is long past.

$35,000.
Yeah he said on the show that as much as he wouldn't ever pay the Republican party that much money.
