Yesterday morning, I was sitting here on my computer doing whatever, but Firefox was running.. and then suddenly the power went out. It was out for about an hour and then came back on.

When I turned the computer back on, I was relieved to see that everything was working as it should and that I lost no progress with anything. Things were good UNTIL... I tried to download something in Firefox. It will download the file just fine, but the download window does not pop up, and when I bring it up manually it is empty. I have to sit and actually wait for the file to download without knowing its progress, and the only way I know when the files finish downloading is when the temporary file disappears (like download.tmp or something like that, Firefox users should know what I mean by the temp file).

It does not end here either... If I right click on a picture, sound file, or anything else and try to save it.. I get the prompt, I hit OK.. but the file does not save.

I tried to uninstall and reinstall Firefox, but it kept all the settings from before (meaning the problem as well). Where does Firefox keep all the user settings and whatnot? If I find those, then reinstalling should do the trick, shouldn't it?

Yo,

Your profile information will be in C:\Documents and Settings\<Windows username>\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles (if you're using XP, which I'm sure you are anyway).
You will need to activate the "Show hidden files and folders" radio button in the "Folder Options" dialog too.

Yeah, that did it. Thanks.
