So my school is having a mock presidential debate tomorrow and I am being Barack Obama. There are four candidates in the debate: Obama, Clinton, Giuliani, and Thompson. All four candidates are allowed to ask questions to the other candidates, and this is where I need you guys help. I'm looking for tough questions that hopefully make the candidate appear hypocritical or contradict their public stance on an issue. Any general advice on debating would be appreciated as well.

Ask Guiliani how he feels riding on the coattails of a massive disaster and using the dead of 9/11 to further his own ambitions while covering up for his ghoulish policies.

Ask Thompson how he justifies paying his son PAC money and also how he is pro-life but lobbies for abortion groups all the time. Use the word flipflop to score a buzzword point.

Ask Hilary why she won't leave Iraq and if the fact that she's being funded by the defense industry might have something to do with her positions.

Get ready to defend yourself from HE'S A NEW GUY comments.

yeah thanks Steel that's the sort of stuff i'm looking for. Care to elaborate on Thompson paying his son PAC money? (The person playing Thompson is the only person at the debate i'm actually worried about, the rest are pretty lol when it comes to political discussion)

Well, Thompson's been in his share of controversy. I'm backing this up via wikipedia, but:

-Thompson doesn't believe in global warming (loooooool)
-his son was in charge of a consulting firm he gave over 200,000 dollars to AFTER he said he wouldn't run again
-as a lawyer he lobbied for abortion rights and now takes a pro-life stance
-paranoid about Mexicans coming in with suitcase bombs.

edit: he also flipped his stance on the Iraq war, so there's more flipflopping, which was Kerry's downfall.

Ask Giuliani why he exploits 9/11 for political gain.

well guys thanks. I totally won the debate. I used both of those questions and Giuliani responded after a few moments with "no comment," and Thompson evaded the question. surprisingly no one brought up the "you have no experience" card, I just got the "you admitted to smoking pot and doing coke" card.
