Hi I want free stuff because my moral system doesn't allow me to bittorrent albums that I should be paying for

But if the stuff is being offered for free anyway I feel ok about it

So uh link to free stuff in this topic:

http://www.last.fm/music/Ilkae <-- Cool weird electronic group that has songs on the Adult Swim adverts apparently - they have two free EPs

And also this one record label has like half the stuff for free, it's kind of ambient minimal dub stuff which I don't particularly like but I do like it in the sense of it's something relaxing that is ON. So this is like a big find for me. So here is big wall of links:

Only thing is I just realized some of the stuff is only free (full) previews, but a lot of them have free downloads too. A lot of it would be considered EVIL IDM but it's not the kind of stuff that's going to GLITCH IN YOU FACE every 2 seconds, it might bore you to death but like I said it's good music for studying or whatever when you just want some non-intrusive music playing. But some of them might suck, I didn't really get to check through it all

Demilich - Great death metal band from Finland. Only released one album, but all of their music (including the album, as well as demos and live recordings) can be downloaded for free on their website. Has some of the most deepest, bowel-levitating vocals I've ever heard.

Crionic - Heavy/thrash metal from the Czech Republic. Earlier releases are generally thrash-oriented. As with Demilich, they only released one album, but Crionic is still active (though nowhere near as thrashy as they were in the early '90s). All of their music is free as well, except it is all encoded at 128k. That stuff aside, check out their album "Different" if you're into thrash.

Acid King - Straight-up doom/stoner metal from San Francisco. They have 1 minute samples for all of their songs, and 5 or 6 whole tracks available for download. One of the few doom bands I've heard which has a female vocalist.

Heathen - Good old Bay Area thrash. All of their stuff is free except for their newest compilation album (which only has samples).

I'll post some more when I feel less lazy.

Fuck man this is great, like a cross between early Megadeth and Anthrax.

archive.org has lots of free live recordings from different bands. It's mostly indie, but Grateful Dead for example has lots of recordings there (they have an entire section for Grateful Dead).

Psychedelic Breakfast - Here's a good show from this band. If you like stuff like 60's and 70's progressive rock and Frank Zappa, I think you could like this band. Listen to Frankly Po Zest for a good example on what this band is like.

Hundreds of amateur musicians here. Some of it is pretty bad but a lot of it is good. Ranging mostly through electro genres. Electronica, Drum and Bass, Chiptunes and stuff.
