also john woo is one of the worst directors alive. his DOVES are the dumbest fucking thing i've ever seen in film. it wouldn't be bad if he just did it once or something, but it's his TRADEMARK and the poorest use of symbolism that i am currently aware of. it kinda HURTS to watch his movies

anyway, this is worth mentioning i think because the one thing john woo is excellent at is ruining movies that may have otherwise had a few ounces of potential. i see no reason why this movie would be an exception to this.
