Article

Crazily enough, medical dramas are good for the overall health of the populace.  It's a pretty good example of how TV can be a positive influence on society - but also raises questions as to whether or not the same phenomena is prevalent in other domains, like violence and sex.  Do cop shows make people more law-abiding?

I admit I learn a lot about more about medicine from House than I did from any other source.  It's good to know that I'm not being led terribly astray.

On another note, Scrubs is the TV show the most like real life, according to doctors (which is funny, because a friend of mine who is a doctor said the same thing. She also said House is one of the worst for portraying real life):
Quote
And it’s worth considering that when medical professionals wrote in to the New York Times recently to express their opinions about the Stanford article, many of them said that NBC’s half-hour comedy Scrubs and not Grey’s Anatomy, House or ER, was the show that best represented what actually goes on in most hospitals

Has a TV show ever influenced your behaviour concerning a health issue?

well reason scrubs is more lifelike is because its a satire on things that already exist in the situation. but with dramas like House and Er, the writers have to add things like bomb threats and ecoli outbreaks to make it more entertaining. my 2 cents

I don't know, I do watch House some times but I don't know how that influenced me, but I always feel offended when they make prison-rape jokes in cop shows like Law and Order, as if it was funny and the victims deserved it...
Play Raimond Ex (if you haven't already)
