Speedball 2
Anyone else pumped for this awesome futuristic sports game?

I've been following this game since Frogster bought the rights from the Bitmap Brothers.
It's one of my most anticipated games of the year, but there hasn't been much interest in it
on the forums i've been to, but I know the European side of the community should be solid if the
game turns out to be as good as i'm hoping. Thankfully it's a PC exclusive for now.

Bitmap Brothers were some of the best developers in the industry, I just wish more of them were
involved in this game too... And I want a sequel to Z already! Speedball 2: Tournament is being developed by Kylotonn/Bitmap Brothers/Frogster Interactive with Mike Montgomery as advisor and lead producer on the
project.

My biggest concern is that it's only been in development for just over a year,
but hopefully if there are any issues they will support the game well.
Back in the Bitmap Brother's days they would spend years perfecting their games.

What is Speedball 2: Tournament?
Quote
A violent futuristic sports game, Speedball 2 puts you in control of Brutal Deluxe, the newest team to enter the arenas. Your objective is to slam the speedball into your opponents goal area and gain more points than your rivals at the end of 2 halves. Standing in your way are 9 opponents with the same aim in mind. Speedball 2 is a game where kicking, punching and maiming your way to victory is not only allowed, its rewarded!
This best describes the original games, the revamped sequel will be online with support for leagues/ladders/clans/etc, should be an excellent game!

Haha I remember this game! Awesome, I will be really interested to check it out.  I thought Bitmap Brothers went bankrupt or something...

The team did seperate and after that most of them didn't do much, I heard a few were working on ports for Namco or something, while Mike wanted to keep making games. For the most part the Bitmap Brothers is just a brand but hopefully with Mike it should maintain the same level of quality control.

This was released on XBLA about 3 weeks ago.

Been wanting to get it but Super Turbo HD is coming out soon and I'm saving up points for that.
