So I finally got the album
Well I already liked the 4 songs I posted up there, but I was worried it would be some really meh songs left over. Well not really, Holding the Moth was kind of a shock because I thought it was going to flow right from Beautiful Burnout. It kind of reminds me of something from A Hundred Days Off, but this piano part kicks in about halfway that's really ridiculously beautiful. To Heal is kind of like this Eno-esque track (like really Eno-esque actually, I could've sworn Eno /did/ make a track called To Heal) which is nice enough and short anyway even if it's not your thing. Ring Road is well, kind of weird, but it's funky too and I could see it growing on me. But the lyrics are kind of right /there/ on this track, and the whole thing feels a little overloud maybe. Boy, Boy, Boy is like the most epic thing ever and I basically just f**king love this track. I like how it's kind of rock but it still has that build-up feel of one of their techno tracks. Like these drums come in and it's like I've never heard DRUMS before it's so good. Cuddle Bunny Vs. The Celtic Villages is really weird and experimental but it's kind of soothing at the same time, seeing as I liked Glam Bucket this is kind of the dark version of Glam Bucket I guess. Feels kind of like really old like Blade Runner music or something even though it's from a 2007 album. Faxed Invitation is kind of a meh track like Ring Road, but it sounds kind of juicy or something so I like that part. But pretty much nothing happens in that track which is kind of annoying. Good Morning Cockerel is really short but really nice - reminds me of some Radiohead B-side or something actually. They should've developed it more though. And of course Best Mamgu Ever is awesome. Also if you're Japanese you get an extra track called Loads of Birds which is actually really cool but the bitcrushed sounds feel kind of tacky. It's also kind of too gloomy to be a proper album track so I can see why they left it out of the other versions.
I give it 5/5 because I'm obsessed with Underworld even at it's worst this is like one of the most uplifting things I've ever heard. It's like if their old material was infamous for people taking ecstasy to it, this album is so good it's like a high without taking anything. Really this album is so good in an arty way, I'm sure my brother will freak when he hears this because all he knows them from is that LAGER LAGER LAGER song
