Yeah. I really doubt that Sega would be creating the dreamcast 2, since there has been lots of reports of them stating specifically that they are staying out of the console business.  Even if they were to create it, it probably wouldn't catch on in North America at least, since they've never really had a large hold in the American market. 

Dreamcast was the original Homebrew console. I remember playing roms, VCDs, and using the internet (lol 56k) on it. It had some great games for it too.... so it's death came to me as a surprise. Good times though.

Anyway, Dreamcast was pretty revolutionary for the time.  Graphics were a lot better than the 64 and PS, they had online for a couple games (which the SNES had attempted, but didn't get off the ground to well), and Crazy Taxi was a novelty arcade game that you could own at home.  Also, no one can forget the flash memory card that had info about your Chaos in Sonic Adventure!

thats because it was the first console in the PS2/Gamecube/Xbox gen, not the last in the N64/PS1 gen.

That's one thing I always forget. It just seems entirely out of place, like it didn't fit in properly with any generation. Oh well. I wish I got a chance to play it more.
