It's really too bad that Christian Bale is back as Batman though, as he can't act and he looks like a rubber monkey.  I hated Batman Begins, but I think about 85% of that was because of Bale....

What everyone else said.

Man Heath Ledger sounds more like Jack Nicholson than Heath Ledger (this is a good thing imo)

I noticed this too. He's probably doing it on purpose.

Guys.

One of the reasons the film media forum is pretty inactive MIGHT be because like 5 of you jump on some guy with FUCK OFF IF YOU DON'T LIKE BALE.

just a thought.

Yeah, he looks very good at that role. This is pretty much the first I've seen about this movie, it looks good. I did like batman begins, it felt really different to all the other (shit) batman films I've ever seen. This looks pretty much like more of the same, I hope it works out that way.

Yeah I doubt it will be breaking any ground or shattering the earth but it'll prolly be a good enough movie

Also I seem to remember that batman begins was relatively remarkable as a big budget blockbuster in that it used no computer graphics at all. Is that right? if it is is this the same?

Actually, if you can remember the scene when Batman got 'backup' from all the bats? And he jumped down the hallway thing? If you have an even better memory, there was a small short scene where he landed, got up, and walked past several FBI or whatever guys. That was completely computer animated. All the shots of Gotham, pretty much, from a distance... They did build a sizable Gotham set, but for the birds-eye views and such computers were used. Also seeing how the Scarecrow was one of the main villains, and how a good amount of time in the movie was when the entire city was going phobic, I think it's pretty safe to say computer graphics were utilized a good amount! Sorry, just a little useless background knowledge from bored summer afternoons spent watching extra features of movies!

Anyway, I love the trailer. Seriously, it's really cool. The Joker looks great, and Christian Bale looks phenomenal as always (!)... Also, I read that in order for Heath Ledger to prepare for the Joker's scenes and filming and such, he spent an ENTIRE MONTH ALONE in a hotel room! He reputedly watched A Clockwork Orange and read The Killing Joke and Arkham Asylum: A Serious House in a Serious Earth comic books that were prime examples of a 'dark' Joker, to prepare himself. More background knowledge!!

If you have an even better memory
Due to a certain life-style choice known for fucking your memory up, well, my memory is fucked up.

I guess I was thinking of something else unless I just remembered someone saying it used SURPRISINGLY LITTLE cg and I'm just getting confused.

Christian Bale is the man, but I'm still not convinced he is batman. Heath Ledger, on the other hand, fits the joker perfectly.

I love the feel of this new series of batman movies. Very very dark and murderous insane, than crazy insane.

Bale was actually believable as Bruce Wayne compared to the previous ones. He didn't make the character so flat and uninteresting.

You haven't seen The Machinist have you?

i don't agree. he doesn't look very much like batman and he doesn't sound very much like batman, i don't think he's the best actor for the role but batman begins was still pretty good

also the take on the joker is a little too dark, i've always figured the joker had no sense of right or wrong, this joker looks like he knows what he's doing is wrong

People are always going to complain about everything no matter what.

I for one think this and Batman Begins are the highest points Batman films can reach.

I am very excited for this. Although I really like Bale, I just wish his Batman voice was a little better. Other than that he is really good. As for the Joker, I can't to see more of him, Ledger seems to do much better(like, almost perfect from what I can tell in the preview) than I had anticipated him being.

I agree. Begins set the bar so high, and if this is as well executed as that plus uh JOKER then well... Yeah, amazing.

Also is it just me or are the pulling the Joker too soon? Isn't he basically Batman's ultimate villain? I know they are setting up for two face in movie three but still!

While I respect the fact that you all want Christian Bale to do you in the ass (ewwwww =P), I really thought he sucked it up in Batman Begins.  I've seen him in some other stuff that he wasn't horrible in, but Batman wasn't one of them.  Everytime he tried to sound angry he just sounded constipated, and his bad acting was made even more apparent when put next to Michael Caine, Liam Neeson, Cillian Murphy, Gary Oldman, & Morgan Freeman.

Guys.

Oh, and this.

Jesus christ this thread went from mildly interesting to a whole load of fanboys masturbating together in one night.

Let's not forget that people have different opinions, and are entitled to them, so deal with it.

If this's true.. that's dedication. I really love Joker in the trailer, but I agree that Christian Bale isn't that good of a batman. At least his looks.. as said, I too think that he looks like some rubbermonkey. As Bruce Wayne he's good, but something with the looks of batman really puts me off. I do like the first movie but every time I see it, the costume of batman really bothers me.

EDIT: I once again watched the trailer, this time batman seems to have a little sleeker look, which is just great.

Yes, thats right from wikipedia.

The best part is, he did all that so he wouldn't have Jack Nickleson's voice when he acted.

Kind of failed in that regard...

Actually The Dark Knight has the Joker as a main villain but also deals with Harvey Dent becoming Two-Face. Like the first movie, it too has kind of a double-villain thing going. (The first movie had Scarecrow and Raz Al Gul.)
