Alright, so BAFTA have their annual 60 second competition, where 15 lucky winners will attend the Orange British Academy Film awards on 10 February 2008. If you make it to the awards, then you'll be up for an award, and the winner will both be on the television and their film shown for all to see. The theme is 'unite', and I've been pretty recklessly running around with cameras and random people to try and get a film together in a few days.
I had a single day to shoot the source material due to equipment time restrictions, so everything was rushed and once I had filmed it, that was it. I don't have a chance to reshoot anything no matter how bad it is.
I didn't actually have a plot for the shooting session, more an idea, a setting but it was loosely based on the theme 'unity'. Which was screwed when 'unite' (the actual theme) means something slightly different.
So I had no idea what the story was when I filmed it (and you can tell in its current form) but there you go.
Basically you can only submit your film once, so I figured it would be the best idea to show you guys a work in process so you can give crits.
Obviously (when I was filming I had discovered this) I'm not expecting any success from this competition, but at least I'll get feedback for the next project.
Here's the film:
I had originally composed and recorded a piano piece, but the microphone/cable from the equipment used for filming was broken, so that was out of the window completely. So I had to find some other music.
The music in the film is currently Bunnymilk's Low-fi Output. (Thanks man.)
