Alright, so here's a fun story.

I owned Breath of Fire 3/4 years ago, but lent them to someone who basically stole them, moved away, and probably sold them.  I'm trying to find decent/new copies of these games so that I could play them on my PS3, but not tear a hole in my checkbook.  Also, looking for Wild Arms 2, etc.  Basically a bunch of the great old PSX games from back in the day.

I'd prefer to avoid eBay, because they tend to try to sell garbage.  Does anyone know of any places (retail) that even carry PSX games anymore?

Try Amazon. I got my copy of Breath of Fire IV from there, and it was in excellent condition with the case/manual.

You should find an independently owned videogame retail shop in your area.  There is usually one or two in every city and they always stock older games.

Get a PSP and download them haha.. PSP Homebrew FTW!! Funny you mentioned Breath of Fire IV, because I'm playing it right now on my PSP. Does anyone know what engine IV used, because it just seems like they used a tacticle rpg engine and made a free roaming one from it?

It's really not hard to avoid garbage with ebay. Just browse until you find someone with good rep that actually has pictures of their game (instead of a stock photo) and also offer a good description of quality. I've literally bought pretty much every game I own off ebay and I've only had one or two transactions that didn't go perfectly (I bought Grandia off some disabled Christian woman and she neglected to mention the jewel case is SMASHED in one corner and falls apart whenever you open it).

I mean, I'm not saying it's garbage free for everything. I know buying shit like RAM can be hit or miss, but if you take precautions and look for BRAND NAME etc stuff and not NEW ITEM !! HOT !! FAST RAM, 1GB!!!!!!!!!!! FREE S/H from a seller named askdkdb111 in Hong Kong then you're usually pretty safe.

I might still have Wild Arms 2, I'd have to check. Tell me if you're interested!

Totally would be interested.  Would like to see condition of discs/box/etc, first though.

Thanks for the links.  And I know about eBay, but people are usually hyping up the price.  Just trying to find a cost-effective way of getting some of my old games that are in good condition.  I've almost gotten all the way through FFIX, and I really need something else to play.  I have Grandia, and I never played all the way through it, but it lost my interest.  Really need to get Xenogears and some of the other games I missed out on -- I still need to play FF12 too.
