I'd like to see what movies GW as a whole are into. What's the last movie you sat down and watched from beginning to end, and what are you comments/opinions on it? What movies are you looking forward to?

The last movie I've seen was I Am Legend with my friends at the theatre. I'd say that the movie certainly had an interesting concept, and the bare, overgrown, unpopulated New York was depicted beautifully, but in my opinion, I didn't like the way the movie turned towards the end with an action angle.

I'd have to say I'm looking forward to The Dark Knight. Batman Begins was one of my favorite movies, and with Christian Bale reprising the role, it's a guaranteed watch for me.

How about you?

Last three movies I saw:

I am Legend
Sweeny Todd
Juno

My favorite was I am Legend (I agree with you about the ending though), then Juno, and then Sweeny Todd. I'm planning on seeing Walk Hard sometime soon.

Usually though, I'm a fan of comedy and that's what I'd watch if I had to pick a genre. I could also watch anything about space and physics (mostly stuff that shows us how small we really are in the universe), but those are usually documentaries or educational programs.

Right now, I'm looking forward to Cloverfield, Wall-E (space movie by Pixar), Dark Knight, and Hancock (comedy by Will Smith), although Hancock looks like it could be pretty crappy.

Nice post, Sarhan. I think I'll take a hint from you and add what movies you're looking forward to seeing to the topic description.

I just saw Adaptation, and, man, it was weird. At first it seemed like a lesson-learning drama and at the end it's a desperate thriller. Weird, but good.

The only movies I really want to see are No Country for Old Men, Cloverfield, and Juno.
Television show I'm currently obsessed with:

You see Diane Rigg in this show? Rawr!

Last movie I saw was Hellboy.. It was pretty great actually. I never got the DVD even though I've seen it like 1000 times browsing through some movies. Never saw any of the comics and I thought the design of this character seemed pretty boring. Movie kept me hooked although I was pretty tired so my head started nodding towards the end. To my suprise it was directed by Guillermo del Toro (previously saw Pan's Labyrinth) Definately recommend this movie if you haven't seen it.

There really isn't any particular movie I'd be looking forward to.

I saw the sneak preview of There Will Be Blood a couple nights ago, and it was really the best thing PTA has made. A real surprise in terms of style, and it's a great character study.

It's supposed to have a wide release mid January... so I'm looking forward to seeing it again.

The Dark Knight will be the shit too. That's another movie I'm really excited about.

Last film I saw was Finding Neverland. I've always wanted to give it a watch, and today was the TV premiere. It's such a great film, one for the ol' collection no doubt.

As for films I'm looking forward to. Hmm, I never really look forward to films, but Dark Knight seems pretty interesting (plus I haven't seen Begins). Otherwise Machine Girl, which seems to be a Japanese combination of Evil Dead 2 and Story of Ricky. Excellent.

The last movie I watched was Primer. For a low budget independent film (produced for only $7,000) it's pretty good. It's a sci-fi puzzle thriller that will have you scratching your head upon your first viewing. The clues are all there but you have to piece it all together and it's pretty difficult to do so. This was my second time watching it and I'm still confused in a few parts. I'm going to have to watch it again a few more times.

I like how there are no big special effects, no violence or swearing, only conversations and actions which you have to watch carefully to figure the film out and what's happening. The way it's filmed is that the director (who also stars in the film as the character Aaron) doesn't spoon feed you anything - you have to really think throughout the entire movie, and I find that refreshing.

Last film I saw in a theater was Sweeney Todd, which was pretty good, especially after I thought it would be a children's movie.
Last film I saw outside theaters was Perfume, which I thought was excellent. It's about a man in 18th century France who murders women and takes their scent using his own method to make perfume. I really like how (especially in the beginning), all the different awful, rotten foods and objects are shown to depict the smell. The whole story and cinematography is excellent, too.
Looking forward to...Nothing.

I actually watched the remake of The Hitcher just now, and it was alright as far as horror movies these days go but nothing special, pretty much what I expected I guess. Looking forward to Cloverfield, No Country for Old Men... Guess that's it.

I just watched Twelve Monkeys for the first time, and I was pretty impressed.  I'm not sure why I've never seen it before, being a big Bruce Willis fan, but it was pretty good.

Last movie I went to see in the theaters was National Treasure 2, basically what I expected.  It was okay, kinda funny, but nothing special.

I'm looking foward to Cloverfield and possibly Juno.

The last movies I saw were:
  • The Man From Earth: fantastic, go see it now.
  • Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix: decent, but utterly incomprehensible when you haven't read that particular book for a while.
  • The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: nice, but not as good as the '81 TV series.

Movies I'm looking forward to seeing:
  • Mad Max: has been sitting on my harddrive for months now.
  • Pan's Labyrinth: dunno, sounds interesting.

That's sort of it.
"Field Marshal Haig is about to make yet another gargantuan effort to move his drinks cabinet six inches close to Berlin."

Sam: "What assurance do you give, Taraka, that this bargain will be kept?"
Taraka: "My word? I shall be happy to swear by anything you care to name--"
Sam: "A facility with oaths is not the most reassuring quality in a bargainer..."

Last movie I saw was Hot Rod with Andy Samberg, and it was pretty funny, I really enjoyed it.
I'm looking forward to finding a copy of Kubrick's Paths of Glory with Kirk Douglas to watch.

There Will Be Blood looks pretty good. It's got that one guy from Gangs of New York, which I loved.
