I've played Soul Calibur II, and from my experiences people who button-mash could beat veterans. I'm glad to see that button-mashing pretty much a horrible strategy in SCIV.

Yeah, I am watching people discuss this at GameFAQs. A lot of people are all "ARGH KILIK IS CHEAP! BUTTON MASHERS USE HIM ONLINE!" But you know what? I used Kilik for the first time today and I don't see it at all. He has good reach and is pretty fast, but masher friendly? Not at all. I don't find that any of the characters are because it takes them so long to repeat specific attacks, like if you standing around trying to bash square or triangle and nothing else, it's just not going to work for you at all.

I've been playing this alot yesterday and today at my brother's home. We're working our way up the tower and currently at floor 36. The game is alot of fun, more than SC2 & 3... and a lot better looking obviously.

I find the Star Wars characters pretty cool. Yoda isn't broken but he's hard to hit unless you do low attacks. Yoda himself isn't that powerful either as one might have expected from the Jedi Master - I found The Apprentice to be way better and more fun. Some people complained that he's too fast but his reach is really short which is a big problem unless you get close. However, I'm beginning to learn his moves pretty well now and he's great to play as, being somewhat of a Star Wars nerd mysef.

So yeah, Big T's: Soul Calibur 4 = shit statement is really shit. These are far more fun than Spawn or Heihachi... Link was alright.

I don't know, Vader and The Apprentice are pretty fun to play as. I'm not too big on the bonus characters or whatever they're called (Shura and the others).

So who are you guys maining so far? For me, it's definitely Seong Mi-na. She's pretty awesome, I think.

I'm big on Nightmare (the bad side) of Segfried, the last boss who I unlocked and Yoda. Once I unlock the last guy I need to (Vader's apprentice), I'll add him to the list as well...

I mainly use Yoshimitsu since i got the soul calibur on him and gave him 200% HP, Counters, and HP Drain.

I don't really know guys who play Special VS, so stuff like that doesn't really matter

But on that matter, I use Siegfried. I love Darth Vader too. Pretty fucking cool and fun character. I like Nightmare too. I also like Cervantes. I think that's the only guys I can say I really like playing with and that I am sorta good with.

Though, I myself do not have this game...

Cervantes is my Favorite I seem to use him more for ring outs since his throws really get them when there near the ledge and he's good at pushing other players back.

Yeah, Cervantes is a beast. I needed a "filler" character on my team for part of the Tower of Lost Souls so I chose him. Well, he turned out to be the best on my team!

But I still have more love for Seong Mi-na. She's hardcore.

Playing Tower of Lost Souls, I found my best to be Darth Vader.

Why? Try that stage with 3 random CaS guys and Angol Fear as boss.

That floor was a bitch for me at first. I kept using people I was familiar with, but they just weren't working for me. Maxi and Mitsurugi got me through pretty easily though (first time I ever used Maxi too).

She does have Anti-Ringout(whateveritscalled) A

which makes it so that oftentimes she does not fall out

but it doesn't make her invulnerable to ring outs completely

I believe only Anti-Dickfacedcocksuckermaggot S does that


iirc all the CaS guys have Anti-Ringout B and they fall out very fast so idk

I don't know, most of the guys I fight in the Tower of Souls don't have Nullify Ring Out except for the one on one fights and such, usually.

But yeah, when they have something as good as Nullify Ring Out A, I usually stick to just regular ol' beating the shit out of them instead.

I'm havin' a blast with this game. Finally got my "dial-up/DSL"-wireless usb dongle thingy working with my ps3, and played a few matches online. I also bought and installed the DLC, but I feel a bit screwed... I can't find the helmets or armours anywhere in character creation. Where do those things wind up anyway?

Man... too bad you have to get alot of honours to unlock the good stuff...

Yeah, I had to resort to online matches to help me get the last honors I needed for Leviathan and Voodoo CaS equipment. All that I have left to unlock (besides shit I don't care about it) is that stage you get from floor 14 of the Tower of Souls or something.

so is this game worth it or what? is the replay value high? i am really really thinking about picking this up on 360 but honestly this is the first fighter I will basically have ever bought so is it friendly to n00bz too?
