Someone please tell me what's so good about this game anyway? I played it myself and found it to have up to 4+ hour dungeon crawling...........ugh...........dosn't really feel like a real Final Fantasy... (FF6-9)

The music was horrible and out of place. Actually I listened to the soundtrack before playing the game and found I liked a lot of it and was really excited....then after purchasing and playing through a couple "dungeons" I find that the actual gameplay is too slow for the music in the first place.

Most of all the cutscenes really feel "planned out", "scripted", "set up", I don't know what you'd like to call it. The levels are actually "missions" which is insane. In Final Fantasy 9 the levels were beautiful, the music was beautiful, and it didn't feel as much like a dungeon mission (and by dungeon mission I mean the kind of thing where you feel like your walking through an enclosed space).

The battle system was horrible, you just sit there and let your guys attack basically and click through a couple of buttons. It didn't feel like you were really accomplishing too much and there was no motivation to gain levels or experience.

The game feels more like Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic (except that game actually had fun dialogue to play around with), which is rediculous. (not very Final Fantasy-like...)

The best thing about the game, the cutscenes (the CG ones) were absolutely stunning. Too bad these were far and few between.

Maybe I shouldn't compare these to what I consider to be the great four, but this feels more like a cut version of Final Fantasy 11, rather than a piece of artwork.

Then again I'm biased in Artwork :: Game; or "Writing/Visual-Artwork/Music/Sound :: Gameplay" (not a big fan of rpg gameplay)


Are there Game-Shark cheats?

This is one of those topics im quite tired of hearing about, since the game lauched in Oct 2006. I personally was not blown away by it, but its 3rd in the greatest FF storylines, under VI and VII.

The story line and musical selections (Hitoshi Sakimoto, who's work in Tactics Ogre and Odin Sphere is masterful) surpass a lot of next-gen RPGs. Other than that, this game really disappointed me.

Overall, I think you need to replay it slowly or re-listen to the soundtrack; you're missing out on an amazing score.

DONT however play FFXII:RW, which isnt saying much, seeing as how you didnt like the original. But I halfway agree with you.

I just wasnt fond of the whole MMO-style gameplay. But hey, when I first heard about it, I knew I wouldnt like that aspect of the game, but hey, its a Final Fantasy and its not going to totally disappoint. Sure enough, I was right.

Bottom Line: Bring back the Dream Team.
