Hey guys, I did something really stupid

I just installed a Japanese game named Dies Irae and Fate/Stay Night. The problem is I have to set my Regional and Language Settings to Japanese.

The problem was, I left my winxp installer back at the phili and my mother forgot it too, and we don't have a winxp cd here except for the service pack 2 cd.

I tried installing the eastern asian language (page 2 in region and language) but it required the main so I cancelled it. I looked at page three and saw there's japanese option and I clicked it and asked for a few files to get installed. Since I'm an idiot fanatic who wanted to see Emiya Shirou already, I asked my friend to send me some files :x

I would give the list but this isn't my comp and my friend wasn't set in autolog, but as far as I can remember it keeps asking for .fon and stuff and I didn't paste it on c:\windows but just at some folder at desktop. It said it was installed succesfully and asked me to restart then I did.

Afterwards, I tried logging in, the password was correct, loading personal settings, back to logging in again. It also won't work in Administrator account.

Since I can't access inside and I don't want to reformat my pc () is there a way to change it back using DOS? I'll try borrowing a friend's CD to boot up DOS if it's possible :x

Thank you

EDIT: I tried the whole f8 thing, I can't even get in Safe Mode :(

Your Windows installation is messed up. Fooling around in DOS is only going to make things worse (note that it's also not so easy to do that; your drive is most likely in NTFS, and I think you need something slightly smarter to be able to handle that). What you must do is try and boot in safe mode. Try to use a system restore point if possible.

If you can't fix it, load up a Linux CD, connect to your Windows hard drive, and then back up your files somewhere.

And FYI, Fate is a hentai game. I had it years before it became an anime!

Don't reformat, just reinstall XP, you'll keep all your files.

Just remember when it asks to format, to "keep current file system intact", and everything but the OS files will stay. :gwa:
