First things first...
Captain America has been assassinated during Civil War, and Tony Stark has decided to offer the post of new Captain America to Cap's old sidekick Bucky Barnes. Since Bucky spent years as a brainswashed assassin working for the KGB and is still thought dead by the world at large, things could get tricky. So...what do people think of this? Is it a great idea or a shitty one? Will it last, or will the 'real' Captain America be back in the next arc? Startling reinvention, or a 'Clone Saga'-esque mockery of everything the character stands for?
Personally, I think that this will rock, because:
(a) Brubaker is an awesome writer.
(b) Bucky is cool, especially since he was retconned from 'plucky teen sidekick' to 'stealthy killing machine who does the nasty stuff Cap can't get away with'.
(c) It should shake stuff up and make for some interesting stories, character interactions, etc.
At the moment, my only reservation is that the new costume looks a bit 'meh'... see it here:
