I've only ever met one Derrick and he had a different spelling.

Microwaveable Hotdogs seem a strange choice, I would've gone for those microwaveable fries because the cardboard box would've added more to burn with, a packet of hotdogs, I dont see burning too well.
It might not have been to burn down your room, but maybe just to fuck your microwave

it sounds like at the least someone was trying to ruin your microwave. i think a fire would be pretty well contained though (paper and plastic stuff can catch fire in a microwave)

Yeah, plastic can catch fire in a microwave, then what? Microwaves are made out of metal and glass, and I sincerely the plastic fire is going to get so hot that it melts the glass and then leaps out onto the presumably tiled floor and then crawls over to a wooden cabinet to ignite that.

Wouldn't that just make your microwave unusable and ruin perfectly good hot dogs? I mean the plastic would melt, and there would be grease all over the inside... It would be damn near impossible get off once it cooled, but I don't think it would've ignited.

I think it was on purpose, I don't think it was arson. It was probably just some douchebag trying to be funny.

Hmm, I did something of that sort with a glass of water.
Was making hot chocolate, thought I had put it in for 9 minutes. Went upstairs and figured I'd come down when the microwave beeped - I don't recall what happened exactly. Im assuming the water was very hot though. (What that shatter a mug?)
