I make this topic because I found a really good band (well cant really can't it a band its more of a collaborative project) Ayreon. The album that I fell in love with is called 01011001. so my question is is there any other really good Rock Operas out there, I usually don't look for that style I'm more in to Power Metal (European).

Heres the people in the band (the reason I call it a project):

Vocalists

Forever (has a larger part)

Hansi Kürsch (Blind Guardian, Demons & Wizards) (Celtic cross)
Daniel Gildenlöw (Pain of Salvation)
Tom S. Englund (Evergrey) (Lightning bolt)
Jonas Renkse (Katatonia) (Pentacle)
Jørn Lande (ex-Masterplan, ARK) (Raven)
Anneke van Giersbergen (Agua de Annique, ex-The Gathering)
Steve Lee (Gotthard) (Yin Yang)
Bob Catley (Magnum) (Pinwheel)
Floor Jansen (After Forever, Star One)
Magali Luyten (Beautiful Sin, Virus IV) (Crescent moon)

Man (not as important)

Simone Simons (Epica)
Phideaux Xavier
Wudstik

Marjan Welman (Elister)
Arjen Anthony Lucassen
Liselotte Hegt (Dial)
Ty Tabor
(King's X)

Instrumentalists

Arjen Anthony Lucassen - Guitar, keyboards, synths, bass guitar, programming
Ed Warby (Gorefest) - Drums and percussion
Lori Linstruth (ex-Stream of Passion) - Guitar solo on "Newborn Race"
Michael Romeo (Symphony X) - Guitar solo on "E=MC2"
Derek Sherinian (Planet X, Yngwie Malmsteen, ex-Dream Theater) - Keyboard solo on "The Fifth Extinction"
Tomas Bodin (The Flower Kings) - Keyboard solo on "Waking Dreams"
Joost van den Broek (After Forever) - Piano and Keyboard solo on "The Sixth Extinction"
Jeroen Goossens (Flairck) - Flutes
Ben Mathot (Dis) - Violins
David Faber - Cellos.

So theres who's all in it. So if any of you have any good suggestion that would be helpfull.

Plus a bunch of guest musicians.

Tobias Sammet's Avantasia: The Rock Opera part 1 and 2 and Tobias's Sammet's Avantasia: The Scarecrow (also Lost in Space part 1 and 2 EPs). Tobias Sammet is the singer and songwriter of Edguy and I really like his rock operas personally. The brand new The Scarecrow has some really nice guest list, such as Michael Kiske, Roy Khan, Eric Singer, Alice Cooper and Jorn Lande (and many more).
You can read more at www.tobiassammet.com.

Also Arjen Lucassen has done many other rock operas, of which the best would be Ayreon's Into the Electric Castle. (www.ayreon.com)

There's also Aina "Days of Rising Doom" which has peoplelike Michael Kiske, Jens Johansson, Damian Wilson, Tobias Sammet, Marko Hietala and Simone Simons contributing (and many more)

Yeah, the majority of Ayreon's material could be considered rock opera. Check out their other material!

Yeah, I actually hate The Who. Like I've mentioned I want it to have a Metal feel to it. Like Ayreon and Aina. I mean look at the Artist Line up for Ayreon.

I am not a big fan of them and I really don't know much about them, but didn't Styx get into rock operas after they made a few albums?
