Alright, I've been looking for a cheap Wacom Tablet for a little while and came across the Wacom Bamboo (I gave up on my search for an e-pen that stored whatever you wrote). I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this particular Wacom Tablet, or maybe someone could share their experience with some other kind of Wacom Tablet. Why did you decide to buy a Wacom Tablet, what do you use it for, and what do you like about using it, etc.?  :hmm:

I checked out the Graphire and Intuos. The Intuos seems too pricey for me ($200 for the smallest 4 x 6) but I love the pen tilt it has. The Graphire was pretty cheap, but not much cheaper than the Bamboo, and since the Bamboo is a newer model it seems to have better features (except for the transparent plate). I really do want to buy the Intuos, but the price is just too much for me right now. I'm going to pick up the Bamboo at Circuit City maybe at the end of the month for about $69. How are the nibs on the pen that the Graphire has?

Here's some info on the Bamboo http://www.amazon.com/Bamboo-Small-Pen-Tablet-Only/dp/B000V9T2JA

EDIT: Woah. check out the Genius MousePen. Twice as much sensitivity, and much bigger for about $20 less. MousePen

That genius pad looks pretty cool, for the price.

Though considering it's about 2/17 the price that I paid for mine (nearly 400 dollars, the genius pad seems to be 47 or so), I'd review Amazon's return policy just in case it isn't really what you were looking for.  If you have vista and the rumor (according to reviews) of it not having new drivers is true, you may have issues.

Half of your money returned if returned after 30 days or if it has been opened. However, I'll pick this up soon (free shipping on the one I showed). I don't have Vista and the package is new so hopefully I won't have any problems.

Doesn't the Intuos have a rubber nib and the Grapphire/Bamboo have plastic nibs? :naughty: Anyway I'm just going to buy the Mousepen. :D

Don't get the Genius, it's crap. It doesn't have the cool tilt-sensors of wacoms.

The Bamboo and Graphire don't have tilt-sensors. The Inuos does, but it's $200. So compared to the Bamboo and Graphire, the Mousepen wins. :D

OK then but see, even if a intuos costs the same as two Mousepens, if you bought two or more mousepens none of them would have tilt sensing, and what if you don't like the mousepen and end up buying a intuos anyway? There's a well known rule that states that cheap things end up being more expensive in the long run

I don't know if it makes sense to you but think about it

Heh, actually I could buy 4 Mousepens (less than $50 each). And I just don't feel comfortable spending $200 on my drawing hobby, so $50 should suffice, and if I end up liking using a Mousepen and want to further my drawing interests, then I might buy a more expensive tablet in the future. Thanks for your input though.

I think Medieve said about this:

Bamboo - Good For Texts
Graphire - Image/Graphic Editing
Intuos - Both.

Something like that, but seriously, just get a Graphire Imo.

The Bamboo Fun is basically a redesigned Graphire.  I used a Graphire for years, but after I bought an Intuos, I wondered what I ever did without it.

Alright guys. My Genius MousePen finally came in.

Specs:
- 1024 levels of pressure sensitivity Pen
- 8x6 in.
- Wireless Mouse
- 16 "Hot Cells" on the left and right of the drawing area (you can set these to open programs or internet or even button combos such as Ctl+Alt+Z. Tap them to excecute)
- 13 Shortcuts above the drawing area (Has preset things like "New" "Open" "WWW" "Undo" "Save" "Cut" etc. Again, tap to excecute)
- Came with Photoshop CS3 and Corel Painter X trial programs (I already have Photoshop)
- Came with PenSuite Pro which has things such as; PenSigner, Annotate for Word, etc.
- Pen has a Tilt Range (I didn't even know O.o) of 50 ~ 60 degrees
- If you want any more specs let me know

It's a little acward manuvering my pointer around the screen using the either the Pen or Mouse. So it'll take me some time to get use to it. I've never used a tablet before and I'm kind of excited. I'm eager to open up Photoshop and get use to drawing with the Pen, so I'll do that right now. So I'll edit this in maybe 10-15 minutes and let you guys know how it goes.  :woop:

EDIT: Alright, not quite 10 or 15 minutes. It just opened up Photoshop and doodled and it works pretty. Again, I've never used a tablet before, so I can't tell if anythings wrong with it or not. [advertisement]But this thing was totally worth the buy, and I'm so glad I bought it[/advertisement]. Thanks to everyone's input, which somehow led to me to randomly finding this brand.  :woop:
