Just a random doogle thing, but cartoons/whatever you remember as a youth?
Like I remember there was this awesome cartoon on as a kid "James Bond JR"... but that's it. I remember it existing but I can't remember it.
Mighty Max is a show that is really cool, and has actually stood the test of time, I watched some of them a few months ago and was suprised by it's smooth animation and the fact that the episodes actually had decent plot. The characters were likable, and it's just a pretty rocking show. There was crap like SKELETON WARRIORS which I remember solely for it's theme tune. Phantom2040 was totally cool, it had a different style to it, and was so sleak. I think, yes there was also The new adventures of he-man, which was essentially he-man with robots and spaceships, and kinda slimmed everyone down. Notable mentions include Conan and Pirates of dark water.
The crowning glory however goes to botsmaster... the show which consisted of 90% stock animation. I seriously love that shit, it's so cool seeing a fight in a forest suddenly have Factory backdrops because of costs. The plots were always the same (one of the bots gets missing/kidnapped, the others rescue them) but it's general no-brainer entertainment.

of course I could mention the Batman animated... but that's too obvious (and being one of the best cartoons around, shouldn't really be mentioned as just a mere memory)

I remember James Bond Jr. too... Man, I fucking hated that show. The lead just seemed so incredibly smug and unlikeable... I remember I bought the action figure just so I could melt his face into a gloopy puddle with my Junior Explorer Magnifying Glass...

The main show I remember was 'Cadillacs and Dinosaurs', which featured a cowboy who, obviously enough, drove a Cadillac and fought dinosaurs. Or dinosaur poachers, anyway... Unfortunately, it wasn't nearly as cool as it sounds, a disappointment that haunts me still.
Fortunately, there were some awesome shows too: Earthworm Jim, the Tick (which had the greatest theme song ever), Gigantor, Rocko's Modern Life, and especially the vaguely terrifying Ren and Stimpy show...

As a wee little kid I would watch Busy Busy Town.
A bit later around 9 or 10 I started watching Street Sharks, Rocko's Modern Life, and Dexters Lab.

I thought Reboot was pretty dope! It was also kind of bizarre, though, in that it started off as a completely innocent children's cartoon with self-contained episodes, and morphed into this really dark, depressing CYBERSPACE EPIC by the final season.

But when I was a little kid, my favorite cartoon in the whole god damn universe was probably Peter Pan and the Pirates (the one that aired on Fox). Through what I can only assume is some sort of freak cosmic accident, I was never exposed to the Disney interpretation of Peter Pan as a child, and grew up with the impression that Peter Pan was a smartass homeless kid dressed in rags (as opposed to a big green fairy). This is probably to account for the fact that I was the only boy in 2nd grade to have any interest in Peter Pan

Also, Tim Curry as Captain Hook is one of the best voice acting performances I've heard in anything animated ever. Honestly! I wish I could link you guys to a clip of it or something, but this show is one of maybe three or four televised programs in history that hasn't been put up on Youtube.

Teddy Ruxpin was always one of my favourite cartoons. My favourite episode was when they take Gimmick's airship and sneak into the Hard-To-Find City on top of the Treacherous Mountain, and bust out Princess Arusia, who was being held by an army of Gutang Warriors, and then they make a daring escape on the airship from the warriors arrow-planes.
You don't see stuff like that on TV anymore.

Lets see

The Maxx, Aeon Flux, Swat Cats, Mighty Max, Thundercats, Pirates of Dark Water, Sonic [the... ][/the...], KaBlam!, Angry Beavers, Captain Planet (yes, I know), Rocko's Modern Life, Ren and Stimpy, Batman, and the lesser, WB version of Batman (not THE BATMAN, but the one that was styled after the more recent Superman cartoon). Xmen and Spiderman also. Lets not forget the horrible Street Fighter and Megaman shows from the US.

Good god... just look at what they did to Megaman X. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cUzX8MXD-lQ (scroll around)

the first run of a lot of comic book cartoons were really great, x-men, batman and spiderman. i used to watch ironman and the hulk too but they were pretty awful to be honest.

pokemon hay hay

i remember there was a show on in the mornings called super-pig i used to watch, it was about a girl that transformed into a pig and got pearls for doing good deeds or something, it was awesome.

C.O.P.S. and Gargoyles are the only cartoons that I remember watching, off of the top of my head.

I'll start with the bad.

Street Fighter USA: Boy, this cartoon was funny as hell. Unintentionally so, but still very fun.

I'll save you the details, but I will say that it was a low budget cartoon based on the hilariously bad street fighter live action movie.

I don't quite remember this cartoon being THAT bad, but my memory was refreshed about looking at the above.

Well, the good stuff's been listed already, so I won't bother with the standard.

Man, there are so many cartoons in this thread that I haven't thought about for years. I used to watch Street Sharks (I can't believe someone else remembers this. For some reason I think this was very obscure), Gargoyles, Reboot, Mummies Alive, and a few others.

I remember one episode of Reboot where this kid asked(wished?) to be 2x(?) times smarter then everyone else, but whoever granted that wish just made everyone half as smart as the kid. That incident was an eye opener for me because, I don't know how to explain it...it made me realize that there can be another side to the outcome other then what is obvious/intended. I think this is the only reason I even remember this show.

I have no idea where to begin. I watched a lot of junk when I was younger.

Let's see... Samurai Pizza Cats, Creepy Crawlers, Reboot, Captain Planet, Captain N,
Johnny Quest, Pirates of Dark Water, Wacky Races (or anything Hanna Barbara / Boomerang),
Dexters Lab, Johnny Bravo, The Simpsons, Batman, Spiderman, X-men, The Amazing Spiderman,
Aladdin - The Series, Darkwing Duck.

I actually hated Ducktales. I also watched about any old Power Rangers serie up to Lost in Space,
though the series started to deteriorate after the Ninja/Shogun series. Turbo was nice though.

However, looking back at this, what the hell happened to television? I switch on the youth channels
these days and i see series like Sponguebob Squarepants. What's up with trying to destroy our kids
brains? I can't seem to remember any series THAT ridiculous while I was growing up.

Edit: Yeah, Doug, TNMT and that series with the fat cat (not garfield) are also on my list of watched
series. Pokemon is also on the list, but it's still running (though Simpsons is too).
(To what i've seen, Diamond/Pearl is trying to repair the damage that anything past Orange Islands inflicted)

Dude Spongebob and the like are pretty great when you sit down and watch them. But actually I forgot the best shit ever...
Bucky o Hare (penned by legendary GIJoe comic writer Larry Hama) was like the greatest cartoon ever. A green hare, a four armed duck and co against a FROG ARMY. Seriously that rocked so hard.

Yeah, but that fucking little blond kid in the gorilla costume always ruined it for me... The writers would always go "Kids don't want to see space rabbits with lasers! They want to see a whiny aryan boy bitch about not being able to go home!" and shift the plot of nearly every episode until it was just about him. It was incredibly frustrating, knowing that there were giant purple crocodiles and killer frogs and stuff fighting just out of shot while that damn kid learned valuable life lessons... He was like some unholy mixture of Scrappy Doo, Zack from Teenage Mutant Ninja turtles, and Vaan from FF12...

I wish I had a neato red hat like Mighty Max.

Remember the Herculoids guys? No, probably not. There was another show that was like the Herculoids, but I can't remember what it was. The chick had like, this bracelet with 3 buttons on it that did all sorts of groovy things.

Top Cat was badass, and so was Wacky Racers, and I AM NOT OLD I HAD CARTOON NETWORK IN THE EARLY DAYS OK.

Fantastic Max, which was about a baby in space.

A Pup Named Scooby Doo (ITS RED HERRING!).

The Gummi Bears, Ducktales.

The Littles, which I'm not sure how I remember.

Robotech (Macross can go suck a lemon, Robotech is where its at).

David the mother f-in Gnome.

There are two others that I can't remember the names of.

I also loved this show called the Wombles, and it was about possums or creatures of some kind that live in Wimbledon and collect junk and like to make inventions. I watched that until I was about fifteen.
