Yeah, I annoy the hell out of snipers on goldrush with the flare gun.
The Axtinguisher definitely isn't worth is if you have the backburner. There's no point in switching to the weapon since you can kill them faster with the flamethrower. If you and another pyro team up though, you could really cause some damage if one has the flamethrower and one has the axtinguisher.

I'll be on tomorrow(or should I say later today) with Magi, so if anybody wants to join feel free to.

I would if TF2 wasn't dead.
I've read a few people say shit like this and I can only assume it's because YOU'VE stopped playing but this is a valve FPS (one they're still adding content to) and it's going to be active and very much ALIVE for years yet, sorry.

I don't get the whole melee heavy stuff. I rarely if ever get melee by anything let along a rouge medic or pyro.

I'm all up for reviving Sunday, SUNDAY, SUNDAY.  Unfortunately my days off are usually Mondays and Wednesdays..., and I 10-7 on most Sundays.  (Thats 11GMT, the matches started at 8GMT, and usually lasted till 10GMT on a good day)

I too got the 20 achievements within an hour on a 2 man + bots, server...  I still need to get my brother to understand that using the backburner to farm the "Kill 15 enemies while dead" achievement is a bad idea (since he's an idiot, and is also trying to get the "kill x enemies from behind" achievement).

A recent update reduced the medic achievements required to unlock the weapons to lower numbers comparable to the pyro achievement requirements.

Looks like the Heavy class is next for an upgrade.

It seems like they're looking for some input as well, which is pretty cool. The Heavy class definitely got weaker with the Pyro update, so it's in need of an improvement.

Tonight I was playing on an alltalk server that ended up in some pretty humorous moments in both voice chat and text chats. Don't expect to see any fancy playing from me though, that's not what the demo is about. This was the recording of the last half of a couple badlands matches. Length is about 12 minutes, drop it in your \Steam\steamapps\user\team fortress 2\tf directory and in the console type playdemo badlands.

I could definitely see some sort of knockback effect for the Heavy's melee attack. I don't know if it would be something that PROCCED as in only goes off for one of every 4 punches or something or if it's a constant small effect but it would be a possibility I think! Of course, on the flip side, if you're close enough to be punching someone, you might as well have your minigun out since it murders everything at close range. I suppose knockback would still be useful vs ubered people trying to cap a point! But that also encroaches on the new pyro ability...........

THIS GAME DESIGN STUFF IS HARD !!!!!

pyros don't really use the compression blast, the backburner is way too good

I just got The Orange Box and I'm keen to try this game, but have not done so yet. Just joined the GW group and I'm hoping for get enough chances to play (but probably won't for the next few days). So yeah I'm solobuttons on Steam and am an absolute beginner.

Also I have no experience with Steam or any of that so h;alp me.

Shift + Tab brings up the Steam friends menu ingame iirc, and theres a button for Steam Voice chat that allows voice chat. Check TF2 or Steam options for the button. That's really all you need to know about Steam as far as playing with it goes. It also automatically gets the latest updates for all your Steam games but usually its best just to keep it off since it hogs memory quite nicely, unless you have enough memory to spare.

Also does anyone know anything new about the Heavy update? I'm hearing that they plan a new gamemode and maps again and thats whats keeping them from releasing the update.

Ya they're doing a new environment and a new map to go along with it.
