Story:

Quote
It takes place 10 years after the end of Persona 3. Set in Ayanagi City, a city located near the Sea of Japan, its police force begins to investigate several cases involving a mysterious illness called the Apathy Syndrome.

In the midst of the crisis, two brothers named Shin and Jun Kanzato move back to Ayanagi to see their elder brother Ryō, who is now the Superintendent of the Ayanagi City Police. It had been 10 years since the three siblings had last met with each other.

Characters:

Shin Kanzato: Seventeen-year-old protagonist. He is a second-year student at Naginomori Gakuen High School. He always carries a pendant with the shape of a feather which is a memento of his father. He also has an interest in art, having several models and is frequently seen sketching. Strangely, his artworks always resemble Personas and in one case, Igor. In the first episode, he awakens his own Persona. One of the enigmatic Outsiders (rogue Persona users) also commented that Shin's Persona is of "Special A-Level".

Ryo Kanzato: Shin's brother, eldest of the three at twenty-eight. His personality is stoic to the point of being cold, even towards his younger brothers. He entered the police in order to investigate the strange incidents, becoming the youngest superintendent in history. In the first episode he is revealed to have a "Persona" of his own, though he doesn't use an Evoker like the main characters did in Persona 3. A bottle of pills was briefly shown on his desk, perhaps similar to the suppressant drugs Strega used.

Jun Kanzato: The youngest of the Kanzato brothers, and a third-year student at Naginomori Gakuen Middle School. He began to lose the will to live after an incident that happened at the time their parents disappeared eight years ago. He had a twin sister, Yuki, whose dress he keeps. Oddly, Ryō overheard Jun seemingly speaking to a girl, presumably Yuki. This might indicate a spiritual body sharing, or multiple-personality disorder. During his visit to the beach, the water's reflection was showing his twin sister summoning her persona but not Jun.

I love this show! It really does have the same feeling/atmosphere as the games. The characters are good, the art is nice (especially the Personas) and the quality is great! It also has a great soundtrack (done by the guy who did Gurren Lagan's soundtrack I heard).

The show isn't bad, I just watched the 7th episode today. I really like the premise and the whole ideas of the "Persona". I liked them when I first saw them on the PS (even though the game navigation was terrible) and am trying to get a hold of the new one on the ps3 (There's one coming for the PSP too).

Anyways, the show is great but I think the pace isn't so great. I want to find out what's happening already.

The 7th episode was good though.

So far, I haven't found much of a connection between Trinity Soul and Persona 3. In the anime they throw around the term Apathy Syndrome and have some easter eggs like P3 music playing at the restaurant in episode 1 but that's pretty much all I noticed. Igor makes an appearance too, but I think he was in all of the games anyway.

Differences that I noticed between the anime and the game include 1) the kids not having to shoot themselves to summon personas and 2) the personas being transparent

I love the game and I hope the anime relates to it more but right now I have no idea what's going to happen.

Taking the game's art style and replacing it with normal anime style like this is a travesty

That's because 1) The Evokers were mindnumbingly stupid and would require too much of a stretch to pull off, particularly in animation form (ie, could a Persona sustain itself indefinitely after using an Evoker, or would it have a time limit. If it had a time limit, what's stopping the characters from just pulling the trigger over and over? Also taking away an Evoker would render the characters totally useless. And this way, we're spared dozens of scenes where the characters pull their Evokers out, only to have them knocked away in an incredibly dramatic fashion); and 2) Personas are transparent because it looks better. If they weren't, it'd be more of a Fighting Monsters (DigiYugiPokeETC) show.

I am really enjoying this series. Episode 9 really has me wondering just what is the deal with the sea.

I like the art. I like the story... to an extent (pacing? whats that????).  I like the characters. I cringe at the battles. Just when I think I have something respectable and interesting... monsters pop out of their backs and duke it out. There are so many other ways they could have handled it... but this series is one looping summon/ transformation animation away from being too ridiculous to bear.
