I'm posting this from my newly completed computer yay :D!
It has 1GB of ram, a 160GB Sata 3GBP/S HDD, and its being pumped by a Celeron D 2.8GHz(Shh it also has a Intel 945G so it doesn't totally suck with graphics until I get a card. In any case, I broke down and decided to wait seven fucking hours to download openSuSE10.3~ Yay... No not really. See the problem is, apparently, openSuSE decided NOT to take advantage of my Celeron D's legacy mode processing and gave me the x86_64 bit edition... Shouldn't really be a problem, except everytime I try to download something from the repositories it screams at me and says,"THIS FILE CANNONT BE FOUND IN A X86_64 BIT VERSION"... GRPHG. I can't even get my audio and video codecs.... Fucked up right? So well, this isn't meant to be a hardcore gaming pc~ Mainly amatuer coding and graphics. But I like my music when I work. So................. Yeah, I'm pissed right now. Suggestions :D?

OpenSuSe didn't decide, you either DLed the 64 bit version, or didn't set the appropriate version during install.

Agreed, It just doesn't Decide for you. You must have selected the 64 bit version of the OS on accident. I suggest finding a fried with faster internet then you and go download it there so it doesn't have 7 hours lol, I mean Ubuntu only took me 30 min to download over my 6Mb connection.

Last time I installed openSUSE, by default it decides, but theres some key you have to press at the very first menu if I recall correctly or somewhere at the beginning. I could be wrong or talking about some other Linux distro because I tried a bunch before settling on Ubuntu.

Well, this topic is screwed anyways. I wanted to shove Windows on the same HDD as openSuSE but... Windows hates too many partitions and openSuSE likes to make too many primaries. I should have watched that but I didn't. So instead I had to slaughter my HardDrive to put windows on there. No matter though, I'm going to get another one shortly. In any case, since that is the case, You can lock this or something.
