5. Foo Fighters - Echoes, Silence, Patience & GraceI know, I know.
"Ew, mainstream music!" Go ahead GW, hold your crosses out and splash your holy water on me. I like the Foo Fighters and have since the first time I ever heard Times Like These. I think this album ESPG (faster than typing out the full name) is a pretty good compilation of songs, but something just feels... Missing. I thought that In Your Honor was an amazing album with several great songs.. But ESPG is just sort of "alright" I guess. It is nice to listen to, but no song reall stands out or speaks to me. The Pretender isn't really anything special either, I don't think.
4. Bon Jovi - Lost HighwayAh, now it is time for...
"UPRC listens to Bon Jovi! Crucify him!" Ah well, I can handle it. I'm a casual Bon Jovi fan.. Like, I enjoy maybe a few songs from specific albums. Lost Highway, though, was a really fun listen because the band tried a very different style which was country-influenced and I think it worked beautifully. Also I really like the song Any Other Day.
3. Thirteen Senses - ContactI loved these guys when DS showed them to me a few years ago. Well, he only sent me one song, I had to find the rest on my own. This was back when they only had one album out, The Invitation. It had some really interesting songs, but Into The Fire was by far the best on there. Then along comes this album.. The first two songs I heard were Contact and Spirals and I thought they were both pretty decent.. But I kind of feel like the rest of the album does not really live up to the standards they set for themselves with The Invitation. Oh well, it's still a good listen.
2. Collective Soul - AfterwordsCollective Soul, my favourite group of all-time.. It's sad that they are getting slightly worse with each new album, but there are still some great highlights on this album. New Vibration is like a throwback to classic Collective Soul, and I can't get enough of that. It's a good album, because roughly half of it promotes the ever-changing sound and style of Collective Soul while the other half seems to focus on their old sound and style from the 90's. It's a fun album, but far from their best. That would be their self-titled album.
1. Airbourne - Runnin' WildI am LOVING these guys! I picked up the album off eBay late last summer after being tipped by a last.fm user to listen to them. Man, I do not regret it for even a second. Airbourne is just flat out hard rock. They were clearly influenced by groups such as AC/DC and Metallica, two groups I really loved in my teenage years. I never thought I'd say this, but I think these guys could de-throne Collective Soul as my favourite group of all-time.. I just need to wait another year and a half or two until they pump out their second album.
