Generally my parents have always liked my friends. They hated my ex, though, which I suppose should have been a sign of things to come.

I don't have a lot of close friends really.

When I lived (rent-free, to be fair) with my grandparents and would occasionally bring a friend over, or would run into them at the store or whathaveyou, oldperson hijinks would ensue. Note: I am 18.

Long Hair Male Friend: "He's not like some kind of junkie, is he?"

Very Polite, But Mildly Goth Male Friend (just wore all black all the time and had a couple face piercings): "Is he an okay guy?"

Asian Female Friend: "She's adorable. I know she likes you, I can tell."

Longtime Friend Who Lives Like Two Hundred Feet Away: "Would you like some banana pudding?" (I mention this only because I thought the idea of my grandmother offering banana pudding to my best friend was so ridiculously down-home it made me laugh out loud)

Most of my friends right now are either old classmates from secondary school or people in my classes at college. My parents are pretty fond of my old classmates because they are accustomed to them and they are generally a well-behaved group and don't really do anything a normal parent would frown upon, e.g. get shit-faced drunk, smoke weed, smoke on the whole, drunk-drive.

We're basically a bunch of geeks who like to keep to ourselves and not stir up shit and I guess my parents are thankful for that. My college buddies are a bit more outgoing and my parents are a bit dubious about them sometimes but overall, don't seem to have a problem with them. My parents like my current girlfriend because they have something in common (big fans of BOLLYWOOD) and I don't like that shit at all, so I guess they enjoy talking about that shit and other Indian stuff.

When I was young I was bullied alot and I didn't have like any friends except my mother's friends kid's, who's moms have said that I'm a bad influence or whatever. My parents don't know most of the friends I have now, but they don't care even about the ones I do know.

Didn't like them for the most part. Parents think they know everything. Very good topic.

My parents like all my friends, my mum always says 'you're lucky to have a gay friend lolol!' and that they have great social skills, never said anything bad about them other than that yeah, one of them tends to not have as great people skills as the others, not that it's a really bad thing, they're just the kinda person that doesn't really open up unless you know them well.

Last time I brought a friend home was six years ago. My parents(most of the time, it's my mom) DO encourage me to bring my friends home(especially if they are female :gwa:).

I am pretty embarrassed of my family and very very very rarely do I introduce my friends to them. Even when people come over, I always rush them straight to my room.

On the flipside, all of my friends parents love me because I treat them like human beings instead of (UGH!!) parents like some kids do. I converse with them and help them out with things. Hell, I have some friends whose parents I visit with when they're not even around.

my mom does not like any of my friends and thinks that they are a bad influence on me. My dad on the other hand is the complete opposite.

That's actually really cool.

For the most part I have a good group of friends. There was this one friend who started smoking and stuff, so my parents disapproved, but I stopped being friends with him for other reasons anyway.

Ironically his family was very open and nice. So was he, but he just started hanging out with the wrong group outside school. I always felt like his home was a very open place to me, but... Oh well.

well, my parents haven't met most of my college friends, but I doubt they wouldn't like them.

As for my High school friends, there was only one person I've had trouble for, A guy by the name Mike Ponder. My dad didn't like him. I'm not entirely sure why but its possibly due to Mike being super liberal but that might not have been the reason.

Well me being part of the "smokers tokers and fuck school crowd" my parents don't really approve of any of my friends. Even though I'm probably one of the worst out there.

well i really haven't brought any of my friends home since around elementary school, i go to school pretty far from my general neighborhood and only 2-3 of us have cars, so yeah they don't know a lot of them! i don't think they'd disapprove too much, none of them do anything bad, except one of them smokes weed

My mom thinks my closest friend is gay. He wears the most fucking tightest shirts you'll see down here. He's buffed up and I think that's why he wears them, but everywhere we go at least one person says he's gay. I'm sure he's not gay, only because i walked in on him having sex with some girl. He used to be my roommate over in New York, but still wow.

my parents would have harsh comments on my friends if I don't lie when they ask 1,000,000 questions about them. so I always make sure my friends seem like the perfect daughter/son. my parents are also really racist :( "you no play with black mans and white american mans dey bad kill you always and beat wife ching ching chong"

My parents were always pretty good about friends that I had. They were smart and can tell who is a trouble maker and who is not. Even then, they would give them a chance to 'proove themselves.'
