I'm sure most of you forum frequenters know this, but I figured it'd be a good thing to have up on the main site. Basically the deal is we now have a (small) shirt shop, so if you want to support Gaming World, or you just like the shirts, you should get one! I'll be paraphrasing / plagiarizing from Pasty's topic, so...

Alright, first things first. Here's the link to the shop itself. As you can see, there's a nice small selection of witty and/or comical shirt designs for you to purchase. What happens is you pay us money and we give you a shirt, just like a REAL shop! Shirts are $17.99 plus shipping and handling, and the new ringers are $20.99 plus shipping and handling. All the major credit cards, like Discover, Visa, Mastercard, and Amex, are all accepted. Check and money orders are accepted as well.

All the profits go to Bart's paypal account, which will help make the site a better place etc etc. If you want to support the site but you already have premium, or you just want the shirt, then this is the place to do it pretty much.

Some numbers and stuff taken directly from Pasty's post:

Quote from: Pasty

Retail Cost of One (1) Normal T-Shirt:        $17.99
Production Cost of One (1) Normal T-Shirt:  - $15.90
_________________________________
Proceeds from One (1) Shirt:          $2.09

Well, the shirts I use (Heavyweight Cotton) cost $9.90 plus the cost of putting the design on ($3).  All of the designs used are complex, which adds a $3 fee on top of that, which brings us to $15.90.  The total that goes to GW ($2.09) is put on top of that, which brings us to $17.99, the final price.  You can read more about this here.

Nice job, Pasty! Alright. Right here right here are some of the current designs.

Gotta love those pine cones!

I like this shirt qlot. It's clever, I think.

Wearer of this shirt: backflipp(e)ing your way to success.

Those are the three basic designs, with two or three color/style variations each.

Now that we've got that done, I'm happy to say GW members can also submit their own shirt designs to be possibly selected to go on a shirt! Now, here are some guidelines for the website that you would need to follow:

•   All components of your design are at least 0.059 inches (1.5 mm).
•   The space between elements should be no less than 0.04 inches (1 mm).
•   The entire design cannot exceed 11.7 x 11.7 inches (297.18 mm). We actually recommend a size of 8.86 x 8.86 inches (225 mm) so that your design can be successfully printed on most of our products.
Please refer to the link below for more information:
El Linko

This production company is tight, so your design has to be ship-shape!

Now another plagiarism from Pasty, on his rules of engagement for submitting designs etc.

Quote

So, here's what I'll do.  We can propose designs in this topic, and get them proofed.  The first person to crack the "vector code" and give me a vector design they will accept will get a sample shirt of their design, AND another T-Shirt of their choosing, both shipping paid.  Please submit your design in either .ai (Adobe Illustrator Format) or .eps (encapsulated postscript format).  Anyone that submits a design that goes on a shirt, regardless of whether or not it is accepted as a vector, automatically gets a sample T-Shirt for testing purposes and as a reward for submitting the design.  I want you to know before you consider this that you will get no monetary return for your designs.  I don't see any profit from this operation at all!  This is something that you can do to help out GW and maybe get a little recognition for your art in the process.  This is the chance for Graphic Art people to step up to the plate and get a design out there!

You can get one or two free prepaid T-Shirts if you submit a design used or submit a vector design used without modifications i.e. less work for everyone, respectively. You'll get some mad recognition and a couple new shirts to boot, so if you like graphic design or just have an idea, you should try this out. There's really no downside, at all.

Send Pasty a PM if you need info! He seems to be pretty on top of things.

The shirt shop topic. Check it out, and vote for what might be the next design!

The shop itself.

Hqppy shopping, everybody!

Hi.  You misunderstood.  When I said 'I am actively working this,' I meant this:

Hello John,

Thanks for contacting SNK PLAYMORE regarding the Blue's Journey t-shirt.

According to our legal department, since the site is not-for-profit and
moneys will only be used for server sustainment, we do not see a problem
with you using the license.  However, we do have a few requirements to this
informal agreement:

1. The shirts can only be sold on your site and not at any other online or
offline outlet.

2. If requested, a sales report of the quantity sold will be provided to
SNK.

3. SNK reserves the right to terminate this agreement at any time and
production of the shirts will be discontinued.

Please reply to this email letting me know if this is acceptable.
Regards,

Mark

Hello, my name is John Dixon.  I run a not-for-profit t-shirt shop
<http://133024.spreadshirt.com/> on behalf of Gaming World
<http://www.gamingw.net>, a website about playing and making video
games.  We have been using the main character from Blue's Journey
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue%27s%20Journey> as our unofficial
mascot for years (he is usually coupled with the slogan "Are you
resistins me?"), and I would like to have one of my guys draw up a
representation of this character to be used on t-shirts.  We don't make
any money off the t-shirts; it is used for server sustainment.  We'd
just like to be able to wear shirts with our favorite character on them!   :)

I'd like to talk to whomever can help me secure permission so I can
legally use it on the t-shirts.  Thank you for your time, and I look
forward to your response.

Man that is really awesome that you have permission to have a foget T-Shirt. If I wasn't broke beyond belief I would buy a good quality foget T-Shirt.

I have permission from Square Enix to use Cloud in my game, by the way.

Also that's pretty cool! I'd love to see/wear a Foget shirt.

Yeah, me too.  I figure they were going to be all NO and WHILE YOU'RE AT IT THOSE SMILIES YOU'RE USING...GET RID OF 'EM (that would've been a nightmare because people would go "that dude got our neat smilies taken away.  what the hell'd he do that for, that goddamned idiot?")

Anyway, Foget design contest topic up.  Communicate your ideas in this topic.  What would you like to see on the Foget T-Shirt?  It's all yours!  I'll mirror your ideas in the design contest topic so the people competing have a pool of ideas they can use to get inspired and hopefully come up with a great design.
