It might take a few days (have to record it to DVD, copy it to PC, split the file, edit, and upload it) but I'll try and get it up ASAP.

Yoshi, please turn off items next time. I left to double check I had them off; and I did.

Oh, sorry about that.  I didn't know it was me.  I think I had them on from when I was playing with some of my IRL friends and I never turned them off.

EDIT: Wait a sec, mine were already off too.  Hmm.  Weird.

Sorry Yoshi, but I won't be getting those videos up. I went to transfer them last night but my 5 year old brother deleted all of my replays and all all vault data. Sucks too cuz I had some amazing replays on there. I should really stop letting him play my games since he's deleted my Brawl data before, as well as completely clearing out my PS2 memory card which had tons of 40+ hour RPG saves.

Guess we'll just have to play again sometime to make up for it.

Aww bummer.

Though a few of those matches were pretty embarrassing for me anyhow.

Even though I posted something similar to this before whatever.

If we did have a doubles tourney how many of you guys would sign up?
Because if enough of you want to, I'll gladly start one. But if its only going to be like 4 team entrees I'd just be wasting time.

I'd sign up in a flash, if I could find someone willing to work with me.  Sadly, I'm the only reliable one on my end.

Like I said, I'll sign up only if it uses standard tournament rules (that is, no items, friendly fire enabled and only the legal and counterpick stages allowed).

Also, I strongly suggest you don't allow two people to play on the same console as it creates too many balances issues towards them.

Yeah, but if you do just online parners, you run the risk of never being able to get 4 players on at once. IMO, it'd be better if everyone just had a friend as a partner.

I'd like to participate either way. I would definitely take any one of you guys as a partner (most of you are better than me), and all my friends around here are around my level too.

It would be standard tournament rules, and I personally dont think it matters whether its an online or offline partner.

Edit- so should i make a tournament 2 - topic in the dojo? or wait a bit, or just not do it?

Make it and see what happens. Give us some info and when you intend on starting it. Start taking sign ups. Hopefully there'll be a decent turnout.

Oh, life...the curve-balls you throw...

If you plan on starting this anytime within May or June, I won't be able to contend.  Something about being on a completely different continent than my Wii makes Brawling online tough.  I'll be back sometime in mid-June, so don't stop this contest for me (not that I would expect you to).

So is this going to be an anything goes partnership tourny, as in I can be partners with a GW member or one of my friends?
It seems kinda sloppy that way, but I suppose it'll be much easier to find a partner of my own.

I haven't played team battles with wii friends before, do I need to be friends with your partner too, if it were someone outside of GW?

edit: someone should do a character specific tournament too

As sloppy as it may seem, the chances of having 4 gw members on at the same time for a match are much less likely than  2 gw and 2 off line or 3 gw and 1 offline etc.

You can pick your own partner, as long as they are able to make the schedule for a match. So keep that in mind.

And the I wont make a thread untill a few days, and that will just be for signups the tourney will be about like a week or two after the post. Depending on the amount of people that sign up (hopefully a good amount of people) this should be a fun tournament.

Edit- Oh and halibabica as unfortunate as it is, if you dont get back or something before the tournament ill try to get someone to make another tournament, or if I have time I'll make a tournament (seeing how this one goes ill see if the teams are, if its even me who makes the next one)

I'll probably jump in with my friend tim, he has a better connection than I do though so we would have to use his wii (change friend code basically), but I reckon we'd do pretty well.

No, you don't need to be friend's with your opponent's partner. You actually don't even need to be friends with the opponent as long as your partner is. You can just join his game.

What do you mean by character-specific? Like everyone uses the same character?

My idea for a tourney if I haven't mentioned it before: random characters.
