So are the matchups posted on Sunday?

I have to admit, I'm going to have great difficulty finding time to play now that I have discovered it is Easter Sunday.

That is unless my opponent will meet me at night or around lunch.

Gahhh. I won't join this tournament, but definitely the next. I'd think I'm probably pretty high up there in terms of GW players, but of course I wouldn't know because I haven't played you lot yet. xD I'll post up my friend code tomorrow for a casual match every now and then.

Well, might as well spend this last day to train like there is no tomorrow, I'm an open target for anyone who wants to battle, I'll be online most of the day (as for tomorrow I believe I'll be available, because I won't be searchin' for houses. Unless somethin' comes up.

I have another question about this tournament - Ok, I get that we play the best of 3 matches, but do we have to stick to one character throughout each match/tournament or can we switch as we like?

I'm hoping on now if anyone wants to play.

I would like to take this time to point out how much I hate playing online. Hitting myself with PK thunder as Lucas is one of my staple moves for both attacking and recovering... and it is impossible direct with lag.

I have the same problem except with Ness.

Offline I always hit perfect pk thunders right into enemies or when I recover.

But online theres always control delay even if its like .5 seconds delayed it still makes me screw up and I usually just hit myself right to my death.

uff,
I'm going to have to drop out of the tournament.
I've been pretty sick this past week, and its getting worse, so I won't be able to do any of this stuff.

Hopefully next time. :/

Well I added just about everyone on the list.

Add me and join my game with my friend if anyone wants to.

Question: is MIKE someone from here?  I don't see the name on the list so I guess it's someone from another forum I visit... but wow, I got beaten today by him worse than I've ever been beaten.  I struggled to even get one stock off of him in every match.  I mostly played Sheik against his Wolf... he mopped the floor with me.  And then on our last match, I was doing a lot better and we were both pretty evenly matched.  In fact I was sort of starting to take a lead....... and then my internet connection gives out.  It's never done that before!  Not until I was doing well against the hardest opponent I've ever fought.  Go figure.

Eh.  He probably would've come back and beat me again anyhow.

I bought this game because I had some friends coming over and I think it's really fun but hearing you guys talk about advanced techniques just makes me not want to play online ever :(  It just doesn't strike me as a serious fighter and rather a ridiculous game about knocking people off of motorcycles by throwing pokeballs at them or whatever.  Also it's a bummer that most of the characters I would want to play as are all unlockables and after playing for like six hours or so with my friend we only unlocked three of them.  And man Wario is awesome.

Brandon, Brawl is a very serious matter!

Ugh... I have to go with the monotonous task of entering all the friend codes for the tourney. I wish we had brackets done so I could enter only those that I need to.. And where are the brackets anyway?

I was wondering about the brackets myself...I'm waiting for Sarhan's official word, since he's the one running the whole thing.

Also, if someone gets paired with a no-show*, are they both automatically disqualified, or just the person who couldn't make it?

*by no-show, I mean "said they would participate, but can't now due to unexpected circumstances"

I would assume they would be rematched.
We all have basically the same timeframe, so we'll all likely be scrambling on and offline to see whether our opponent is, and I doubt if it will be much trouble to switch.

EDIT: Nevermind, I think it might work... so if my connection stops then thats the end for me.

They're just demos.  The time you can play them ranges between 30 seconds to 4 minutes.

In other words, by the time you figure out the controls for any of these demos your time is up! Overall they're a pretty worthless feature and pretty much feels like a slap in the face by Nintendo (not only is the time way too short but they removed Earthbound from the NA release).

Hey, they give you time!  I was able to save Penelope in DK Arcade (once, barely) and got the Hookshot in Ocarina of Time (again, only barely).  It's sort of fun to see how far you can get when you know what you're doing, but then again...the time limits are really freakin' lame.
