To whoever my opponent is: I'm going to family's easter, and I won't be back until after the 9:30 movie tonight. Meaning like 11:30-12. Fuck.

Calm down. I said brackets would be up by 6 PM central. It's only 5. Working on them right now. All of these late drops are annoying too. Have to figure out who to include and who not to.

By the way guys, you have until 5 PM central to complete the first round. If it becomes a big enough issue, I can extend it and give everyone some more time. We'll see how things go.

I have another question about this tournament - Ok, I get that we play the best of 3 matches, but do we have to stick to one character throughout each match/tournament or can we switch as we like?

You can pick whoever you want. No need to stick with the same character.

I was wondering about the brackets myself...I'm waiting for Sarhan's official word, since he's the one running the whole thing.

Also, if someone gets paired with a no-show*, are they both automatically disqualified, or just the person who couldn't make it?

*by no-show, I mean "said they would participate, but can't now due to unexpected circumstances"

Remember to contact your opponent ASAP and set up a time. You have until 5 PM tomorrow to complete your matches. A reminder about the rules:

-3 stock matches.
-Best 2 out of 3 (finals is best 3 out of 5).
-Items off.
-All stages allowed.
-Double elimination.
-No stalling.

Stalling is just running around and avoiding fighting basically. It's more important in real-life tournaments since there is a time constraint. Some people will take the lead and then just run around until the time runs out for an easy victory. The stalling rule was added because we were originally going to use items and because I wanted to set up an 8 minute time limit in addition to the 3 stock, but I decided against it since we have more time. It's really not that important of a rule for this tournament.
