ok so the new series of South Park is starting, so I thought "hmm I can't remember a South park topic yet" so I made one (groovy, eh?)
I was a fan when it began, but stoped watching when they introduced timmy and the like, but only started watching again last year and I've really become a big fan. The shows politics mainly go towards pointing out the stupidity on all sides of arguements, and it's parody of pop culture (such as Paris Hilton, queer eye or Guitar Hero for examples) are big hits for me. My fave character is Butters, and seriously he rocks. An episode with lots of Butters in (such as Cartman sucks or Imaginationland) is a great episode by my books.

The recent episode is pretty great because it's basically... Cartman . It's a very strong opener episode and I really hope the rest of this years are as good as this.

EDIT: (Oh yah, I'm mod again btw and this... is my rules topic)

I don't know about the rest of yall, but when I think Anime, I think South Park[/sarcasm]. I actually felt this seasons opener fell flat during the beginning. It just had a different vibe about it. But it picked up near the middle of the episode. I liked their past couple of season (like the past 5).

Oh snap...I gotta go watch it now, I didn't know it was up (the last one I watched was Imaginationland, which was just hilarious! The end of Part 1 was just so classic and so Cartman). Fav character for me? I would say Cartman...just for his Business sense and schemes..."My balls...". Oh man, gonna go look for the SP episode now.

I couldn't help but like that episode.

But you do seem to have good taste in lame episodes. (although I couldn't help but like a million little fibers as well...)

The Tom Cruise thing in the closet with John Travolta and R. Kelly was the last episode of South Park I could watch. I really loved everything before that, but it seems to me as of late they are really reaching for plot, and don't seem to land jokes effectively anymore.

Plus it also lost points for the Family Guy episode, which was a very clear miss.

I wish I could love South Park as much as I used to.

If anything they've gone more away from plots. Earlier episodes generally had a few diverging stories per episode. Now they've cut back on that making it pretty single and clear, but they're focusing more on commentary and politics. Which is kinda shit I like.

felt lazy to me. maybe they had CARTMAN GETS AIDS on a post-it for years and figured what the hell. there weren't any particular clever or funny parts, and the cash cure for aids was disappointingly dumb. it was more like an earlier episode of the show, where someone would get an anal lobotomy or something high-larious,  and i only really like the last couple of seasons of this show.

I thought the cash cure for AIDS was funny as hell. I've actually wondered why Magic Johnson has been perfectly fine since getting it way back in 1991. Something is keeping him healthy.

...that's...that's the joke.

he's able to pay for treatments normal patients can't.

the joke isn't actually that MONEY MADE HIM WELL, its the money he paid for treatment!

I like the message they tried to get across about how America puts disfigured and diseased people on a high pedastel just so we can feel sorry about them (but few actually CARE until they have the disease) but out of the past couple of seasons this was very poorly directed and, frankly, boring.  Normally there's some crazy faux dramatic shit happening but this episode was pretty tame as far as jokes go.

The last two or so seasons of South Park have just been pretty boring to watch.  There's just nothing happening in them.

The ending of the last episode was pretty funny. The Britney Spears one.

I dunno the britney episode was vey NOTHING HAPPENING throughout the whole thing. It started off funny but when that became the whole point of the episode, it was kinda weak.

Yeah during the episode it was pretty lame, but I liked the ending.

Maybe they've *gasp* lost their touch...
