Well, I've been meaning to draw a comic for a long time and the art tournament basically got me the exposure I needed to get started on it. I've got too many other projects going on though, so it's nowhere near getting started. I do have about 400 pages of dialogue written and most of the main parts of the story planned out. Of course the other reason I'm delaying, projects aside, is that I'm trying to bang out a more realistic style for it, one that's not as overly anime as my art tournament entries.
But yeah, I don't think I'm winning any awards for originality but since I'm doing this for fun and because I want to tell the story I don't really mind as much. The story is called "The Hundred Suns" and it's set in the equivalent of the Middle Ages for my made-up universe and follows the story of a group of would-be mercenaries traveling around the known world doing their work, but as the story goes along the group gets larger and takes on larger jobs until it eventually becomes a full-blown guild. I wanted to do this story because I wanted to illustrate the medieval world of the universe and the cultural and idealistic differences present in that time period of the world. All I've got right now are a large amount of character drawings illustrating most of the first few characters of the story, though the drawings are about a year old. Like I said, I'm working on retuning the style in which I draw these. I might find something really interesting and different to do it with, as I'd rather not default to the usual anime style. But like I said, it probably won't win any awards for originality, it's pretty much an action/character story. Heh.
You've probably seen it before, but here's my "poster" for the story:
